Crowne Plaza Is A Great Place to Stay!

  • May 30, 2007
  • Rated 5 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
Staying at the Crowne Plaza was an excellent place to stay - it's even near Busch Gardens and not far from President's Park and the Williamsburg Pottery. Everything is in close proximity. However, the Hotel should do better with it's directional signs and making them larger or at lease letting the traveler know they are near.

A Place to stay

Don't stay at this hotel expecting to be able to work to Williamsburg. We drove to the visitor's center and took the shuttle to both Williamsburg and Jamestown. The beds and the pillows are soft and uncomfortable. The train runs accross the street from the hotel, and there seemed be a lot of busses loading in the mornings. It was clean, but don't bother hanging your towel as they will take it anyway. After driving around the town we found that there are better hotels in the area that we feel we would have enjoyed better. This was located very well for what we wanted to do.

NOT Family Occupany Hotel

  • April 10, 2007
  • Rated 2 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
I arrived with my family of 5. Disappointed not to have a microwave in the room to heat my infants formula, nor the option to heat up leftovers. The double beds were not comfortable. The room in general was very small. I hung my bath linen as the door hanger suggested to conserve water and detergent. Only to return to my unit and have no bath linen at all. The bathroom was extremely small, my children were afraid of the closeness in space. The room was overly cluttered with the furnishings. Making it hard for movement in the room.

Didnt even check in

Online photos make the place look alot better. Inside of the hotel and rooms smelled very musty and the lobby bathroom scared my children since it smelled so bad. After 1.5 hours inspecting the property we decided to find anopther hotel. There was even construction going that we were not told about. Pool photo makes the pool look huge...it is small at best. I wouldn't recommend this hotel since there are so many other nice places to stay that aren't so old in the area.

Family vacation

When lost, we called the hotel and the nicest lady gave great directions. Once there, the check in desk employee was very friendly and helpful. The sliding glass door to our room took 2 people to open because of damage. The shower/tub needed mildew remover and the tub resurfacing. Our rooms were clean otherwise. It was nice to have a refrig. & coffee maker in the room. Our kids(5) liked the indoor & outdoor pools.
