Not Happy with our room or the service we received

We stayed in four hotels during our trip and this is was the most expensive, the only one we had problems in and I thought the least value for our money. Our room had no air conditiioning. Not really sure any part of the building had air, the breakfast area was hot. We called the front desk in the middle of the night and she told us quite rudely that they were full and since we didn't call her earlier, (like it was our fault that we didn't realize the air wasn't working) that there was nothing she could do. She suggested we open the window. Well, that wasn't an option because it is next to the interstate and they are also doing construction next door. We were literally sweating. It is Texas afterall. The next morning we were offered a whopping 25 dollars. We paid 135 for our room with tax. I thought we should have at least received half back. The only nice thing about the hotel was the pool. It was not very deep or big, but it is open 24 hours.
