Never have I stayed at a resort with friendlier staff. The grounds are beautiful and the activities at the pool were an unexpected treat.

Long Weekend

The pool area was great especially with the kiddie pool and music playing. The landscaping was nice, but first they gave us a room with a parking lot view. The really annoying thing was the "time share" push. They tried several times including leaving us voice messages in the room. The restaurant food was surprisingly good and reasonable.

Best Things About the Resort:
Golf, dining, and the beautiful surroundings were the best things.

Resort Experience:
RCI was correct in giving The Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Arizona, a Gold Crown Rating.

The championship golf course is in fantastic condition, and the grounds of the resort are immaculately maintained. It’s hard to believe, but during all of our stay, we did not see a single weed in any of the grassy areas. Flowers and other colorful foliage are everywhere. The resort is divided into clusters of two-story units (casitas), with each cluster surrounding a small manicured courtyard. Small waste disposal bins take the place of unattractive dumpsters.

All units at Legacy are non-smoking units. Our two-bedroom unit (actually a large one-bedroom unit with a separate lockout) was one of the most beautiful we have seen. The unit was spotless and contained many, many amenities that are rarely seen at other resorts. The A and the B sides of our unit had 9-foot ceilings, a king-size bed, a washer/dryer, double sinks (the A side actually had three sinks), a glass shower enclosure, and a (8’x12’) covered patio of a good size. The master bath featured a large whirlpool tub, and all bathroom areas had what appeared to be marble sinks and marble floors. A plush throw rug took the place of the usual towel-type bathmat. The hallways and kitchens had ceramic-tile flooring. Arches in the hallways and a tile kitchen counter added a Southwestern flair. Our two-bedroom unit had SIX telephones (including one in each bathroom), and three TV’s offering HBO and over 70 cable channels. Pads and pens were provided by the phones, and even the phone books had leather covers! The resort also provided a daily newspaper for each guest. The furniture was definitely high end . . . no "squishy" sofas here.

The staff was focused and professional. We saw no staff members "horsing around," and the two items in our unit that required maintenance (a defective door lock and a non-working remote for one of the TV’s) were repaired within 10 minutes of our call.

Besides the golf course, the resort has a reasonably priced restaurant; several pools; an exercise room; and facilities for tennis, volleyball, and shuffleboard, as well as a children’s play area. There is a full weekly compliment of activities for all ages. If that isn’t enough, the huge indoor Arizona Mills Mall is only a short drive away.

If you are able to get availability at The Legacy Golf Resort, you will not be disappointed.

The one-bedroom unit was beautifully furnished, with lots of room for just the two of us. It would also accommodate another couple, but preferably one or two children. The jacuzzi tub was very relaxing after a day in the Valley of the Sun. There was lots of cupboard space for storage and a large bedroom. My only complaint would be that the pillows on the king-size bed were very small. The unit had a full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, stove, refrigerator, washer, and dryer. The living room was very comfortable and nicely decorated in a southwest theme. The balcony was great, overlooking the 17th hole of the Legacy golf course.

My husband enjoyed the golf course several times with the A-One clubs that were provide at no charge. I enjoyed my time at the huge pool area. Although we did not use the fitness area, it appeared to be well used.

Best Things Nearby:
Shops, although you do have to drive to everything. The zoo and the Rawhide restuarant were also the best things to do nearby.

Best Things About the Resort:
The size and comfort of the rooms were the best things.

Resort Experience:
This was fantastic. There were large rooms, and all amenities were modern. It was very comfortable. The pool is large with plenty of room for everybody. There was a great golf course; the service and facilities were very good and the prices for a game were reasonable. The gym was well equipped.
