We stayed at the Hampton Inn Stes W Ashley for the 4th of July weekend and we were extremelly satisfied. The staff was wonderful, the room was clean and nice. Breakfast was very good. Location is good, very nice pool, and the price was great. We will stay here again.

Wonderful experience!

We were so happy about our experience here. We were going to a wedding and we wanted a decent place to sleep for good value - it was so much better than expected! The room was really nice. The only issue we had is that we had a 2 queen bed room and the beds definitely were smaller than queens. But besides that, loved the room. Free internet, outdoor pool, fitness room - there was just a lot to offer. The continental breakfast was fantastic - Krispy Kreme donuts! The hotel staff were all so sweet and helpful. The location is great because it's central to the airport, some of the big plantations, and the historic downtown. We didn't have much time the day of the wedding, so we drove down the main strip the hotel is on and found 5 Guys Burgers and Fries for lunch - so good! The hotel is in a busy area so we felt perfectly safe. All around fantastic experience!!

Dirty room

We booked the whirlpool suite for a relaxing night at the end of a long activity filled vacation and we were very disappointed in this room. The carpet was stained and greasy. There was mold in several places in the bathroom. The tiling in the bathroom was falling off and there were several places where the paint was bubbling off the wall. There were holes where things had obviously fallen off the wall and the comforter on the bed was stained. Cleanliness is the minimum that should be expected when booking a room and it was missing here. The location was also bad, being at the corner of a busy intersection-noisy all night long. We had much better rooms every other night of the vacation which we paid less for every time and were much closer to all the attractions. Charleston is a beautiful city and you should definitely go, just don't stay here.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The first was when it was brand new, and we were taken back by the rooms, comfort, and location to where we needed to be. This time was just as great, and even though it was for another funeral, we really didn't have time to enjoy the pool we overlooked. My husband was able to go down and enjoy the social hour. When we go back into Charleston again, we will stay again at this hotel. Great location, walking distance to go out for dinner, and located close to the city if you want to go into town. Thank You for the great stay, and the staff was wonderful and very helpful. Thank You Jill Bianco Fredericksburg, VA
