Description: When we visited canada, one of the highlights of our trip had to be our two night stay at the SHERATON FALLSVIEW, Niagra Falls.
The reception area was somewhat cavernous with a waterfall feature in the central area next to a massive staircase. I wonder where they got the inspiration for a water feature?!
There were a couple of gift shops and a coffee shop in the reception area and an Italian restaurant off to one side.
Checking-in was a bit slow with only a couple of staff on hand at first, and one person having a problem with their reservation. However re-inforcements arrived and we were soon on our way to our room.
Our room was on the 19th floor and the view was amazing - it felt as though you could reach right out and touch the falls. The room was extremely spacious with a very comfortable and firm king-size bed, a sofa with an occasional table, and a large dining table and chairs. There were 6 lamps - all with dimmer switches - spaced strategically around and this gave a nice ambience to the room. We had a coffee maker, hairdryer and a safe in the mirror-doored wardrobe.
We quickly moved the sofa into the bay window area, which was floor to ceiling. What a view! We practically didn't move for the next two days. We didn't move much at night either because the Falls are illuminated at night and that was a bit special as well.
The cable TV had pay-for-view movies and also had music stations tuned to the 'fallsview live-cam' playing a choice of: rock, jazz, blues, classical etc. We never actually watched any TV programmes, preferring to listen to music and soak up the view.
The bathroom was huge with a two-person jacuzzi and a glass dividing wall to the bedroom. This meant that we were able to relax in the tub and still have a view of the falls. Plenty of luxury toiletries adorned the ample vanity area and the towels were the softest, thickest and fluffiest I've ever seen.
The toilet was in a separate room leading off from the bathroom.
We treated ourselves to room service both nights and both mornings, the only complaint being that the food could have been warmer. Having said that, the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and polite.
We were given a bottle of champagne from the management and made to feel very special. It was very romantic and everything we could have hoped for.
All in all if you are looking for somewhere for a special occasion or romantic break, look no further.
The only downside is the distance from the attractions at Clifton Hill. We had spent the previous night at a hotel on Clifton Hill and so it wasn't an issue for us.
