My wife and I scheduled a week's timeshare exchange at the Pines. We drove from San Diego, Ca to Sedona, Az. When we arrived in the evening, we were told that there was no reservation for that first evening!!!! IWe ended up having to drive up to Flagstaff!!!. Other than that mishap with the first night, we had a great time. The Pines is a beutiful place. They did pay for our night in Flagstaff and gave us a coupon for dinner so they did their best to redeem their mistake. Sedona is a place of enchantment.

This "resort" is made up of individual modular buildings that are cozy, but bright with the many floor to ceiling windows in the living room and clear story windows elsewhere. Though each unit is compact it is perfect for a couple and very efficient in total design. The Jacuzzi/bathtub/shower was too small for being used as a Jacuzzi unless you were 5'2" or less. There are plenty of amenities on site and the distance from the center of Sedona affords some country quiet, but good views.

The staff were very accommodating. We found our unit very clean and the only glitch was a water problem where water from the Jacuzzi leaked into the kitchen area leaving a large puddle. The platform bed was very comfortable, though the bedroom was quite tight and we had to place one rollerboard suitcase on the floor of the closet.
We are planning a return visit in late October.

Best Things About the Resort:
Quiet, peaceful, clean

Resort Experience:
I was really concerned being placed into this resort after all the reviews I've read about how small it was. We had two 2 bedroom units and one 1 bedroom unit for 13 of us. We had more than enough room. The "modular" type units weren't the biggest place I've stayed at but it was really, really nice, clean and peaceful. Plenty of closet space for luggage. The only downside was that the second bedroom is not attached to the main unit itself but it's across your patio which can be a pain if you have small children and I thought the points value was a lot for the size of the units itself compared to other resorts. Kids loved the pool, Jacuzzi in the bathrooms. The exercise room was small but nice.

Best Things Nearby:
Sedona's beautiful red rock formations and closeness to the Grand Canyon.

Best Things About the Resort:
Privacy in the units; jacuzzi in the the bathroom was wonderful; HBO 1,2 and 3 on the two tv's

Resort Experience:
The units are nicely decorated, but a little small. I was alone, but had two brothers come to visit me. It was too small for the three of us. It would be OK for a couple in the bedroom and another person on the pull-out couch in the living room. The housekeeping staff is friendly and attentive. You are notified that housekeeping is only done one other time during the week, and that was nice. It would have been irritating for them to come everyday. The staff in the office was very friendly and helpful. There was also a concierge on duty who could book trips and excursions. Each unit was suppose to have internet access, but this proved not to be sufficient. The main office did have a computer that guests could utilize. My cell phone had no service (T-Mobile) during the week. The resort is 10-miles out of Sedona, and a little secluded, but in a beautiful area. Tour companies would arrange pick-up from the guest facility if necessary, but I noticed that most people had their own transportation. A free breakfast was arranged the first part of the week, and reps of various tour companies were available to tell guests about their tours. I would recommend the Pink Jeep Tours, especially to the Grand Canyon— it was wonderful; the lunch at the lodge, many views of the rim, a wonderful guide who was very informative, and amusing videos were provided in the van about the Grand Canyon. The tour was 11 or 12 hours, and was well worth it.

Very nice 1 bedroom, 1 bath, high-end modular unit with porch. Private and quiet, off the beaten path and about 6 miles from downtown Sedona. Good place to walk in the early mornings.
