I recently went back to stay at the Lubbock Regency and found it's a Red Roof Inn. The hotel has been redone. It was clean and the staff was friendly. I was pleasantly surprised.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

We stayed at this hotel as a half way point on our road trip to San Antonio. It was BAD! A complete DUMP! As soon as you walked in you could smell a horrible musky odor mixed with cigarette smoke. The front desk attendant was rude. We were told to park around back to be near our room entrance, but there were some pretty shady characters hanging out in the back. We parked in front and walked through the hotel. The first room they gave us had not even been cleaned. They moved us to a different room. The TV had no reception. The beds felt like box springs, with matresses so light and flemsy my 4 year old could push them off the base. The Ceiling had cob webs in the corner, and was sinking down in sections in the bathroom. I was afraid to let my children get in the tub. The room was cold at night and the heater was broken. We were afraid to ask for a third room due to the attitude from the front desk attendant. There were a lot of teenage/young adults hanging out in the lobby and in the hall ways. They partied loudly, slamming doors and yelling back and forth to each other in the hallways till 4am. We finally got up shortly after 4am and left the hotel early. It was not a safe place. Please do not stay here. You will regret it. It was a complete waste of money. I would have rather slept in my van at a truck stop.

VERY UNHAPPY

Hotel in terrible part of town. Had to watch over shoulder at all times. Afraid to stay in parking lot. Pool area was hot and messy. No air conditioning in elevators and hallways. Light bulbs burnt out in hallways. Would not recomend to anyone.

From the moment we walked in there was a foul odor. Not sure if the person who checked us in even looked at us durring the process. The lobby was dirty, the hallway in front of our room smelled like smoke. If it wasn't so late at night we wouldn't have stayed. Couldn't wait to get out of there and on the road again.
