Quality Hotel on the Beach Vacation with Family

Chose this hotel by reading the reviews and wasn't disappointed. Beds were very comfortable. Didn't find it noisy on the city view side. Close to everything you need within walking distance. Beach was small but pleasant. Downfall on the beach were the boats docking on the Saturday and tripping over the anchors. I would return. Had a great vacation. Staff was pleasant and rooms were clean and well stocked.
A great, modest hotel.

It was a great hotel for the money. The rooms were clean and modern, and all had a private balcony and also a mini fridge and microwave. I recommend going with at least the "partial ocean view", because it's a pretty full view as far as I'm concerned. The hotel has its own beach with a beach bar, and it has a nice pool. There is an IHOP attached which is open 24 hrs. (very handy), and they serve as the hotel's room service. The hotel is within walking distance of just about everything; food, beer, souveniers, necessities. You can even walk to the marina where the various boat tours dock. The hotel two over from ours had a larger beach bar with occasional live music, and also had waverunners to rent and parasailing. We only used our rental car to go to Tampa and St. Pete. The hotel's beach is small but nice. It does get a little crowded on the weekends because boaters dock right off the shore to hang out at the beach bar, so it becomes more of a party atmosphere which was fine with us as we are young with no kids. If you're not looking for luxury accomadations, this is THE place to stay in Clearwater Beach.
Exceeded expectations

This hotel actually exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel was located in a convenient area. It was nice having a bar on the premises and also an IHOP. It's right on the beach but you can also walk down to the public beach. The only negative would be the loud music heard from the hotel a couple doors down (when you wanna sleep, you wanna sleep).
Pleasant stay

We were pleased with our choice and would stay there again if the price was right. We had some misgivings regarding the potential for noise from boats docking at the beach and the proximity to Shepard's Resort, but were not disturbed by either issue. Few boats were moored at the beach during the weekend we were there. You could sometimes hear bass music thumping from the nightly entertainment at Shepard's, but it wasn't overwhelming when we were inside the room. Unfortunately, the A/C unit in our room made a very loud noise when the condensor unit turned off, and the weekend maintenance staff was not able to fix it.
Our generously-sized room (#218) overlooked the pool and beach. The bath had a separate enclosure for the toilet and tub. The sink area had a nice granite countertop and was a nice size. An iron and ironing board, inroom safe, blow dryer and coffee pot were in that area. A large dorm-sized fridge, microwave, and flat screen TV were located in the bedroom area.
The balcony is fairly long, though it has a partially obstructed view because a hotel exit door is located directly below. The room was very clean and the king-size bed was extremely comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a great job. The front desk staff was very friendly, and we received a great restaurant recommendation from the front desk. The Island Way Grill was wonderful. We enjoyed the dinner buffet at Shepard's and pizza at Gondolier's, as well.

Our room was great-had a wonderful view of the beach. Hotel location was good-eattins,shopping the marina and beaches all close by. Would definitely stay again.
