Description: This nice hotel in the downtown area is part of an office/retail complex with an ice rink in the center. I made my reservations through Priceline for less than $100.
If you are driving, it is just off the highway on Pearl Street; the parking garage is behind the hotel. Parking is expensive ($20). We parked our car and used the DART to get to the American Airlines Center for a Police concert we were attending. There are several restaurants in the area that I would enjoy visiting. If you are staying more than one day, look into buying a rail pass and using DART.
It is close to arts and financial attractions and right on the DART (light rail system). You can ask for a runner's map with a 3 and 5 mile route from the hotel.
Check-in was simple and quick. The staff were helpful and friendly without being a bother to me. I noticed they had wired Internet access for a fee.
The room was clean and spacious with the Westin signature bedding (the best beds ever) and shower. Furniture was a dark cherry and gave the entire room a sedate atmosphere. I loved the roomy bathroom with plenty of shelving for all my necessities. Our room was quiet and overlooked the atrium area with the ice rink below.
For breakfast we ate at the McDonald's in the retail complex. There was a coffee shop as well, although there is a coffee maker with Starbucks coffee in the room.
