Great hotel-great location

My 16 year old daughter and I stayed 3 nights and loved this hotel! I was looking for something "Old New York" rather than a glitzy chain hotel and we were not disappointed. It has a charming history, beautiful, spacious rooms and very friendly, attentive service. The location is great - just 4 blocks to most anything in mid town manhattan. We didn't use the fitness rooms or business rooms so I can't comment on those. But the rooms were very quiet for New York Standards. I could barely hear our neighbors. Loved it! Would highly recommend!

Elegant and Refined Hotel

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day/4 night stay at this hotel. Our room was very spacious with the added benefit of a pullman type kitchen. (Hint: a small refrigerator would make this room even better; or add a mirror and you've got a dressing area!) The staff was extremely professional; their restaurant recommendations were "spot on" perfect. Although our room on the 9th floor is scheduled for renovation in the future, it was still well-appointed and clean. Hotel's location was PERFECT - within walking distance to Lincoln Center, 5th Avenue, theater district, Central Park, restaurants, trains and subways. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice, great location.

Just as most other reviews state, the location is great. So close to 5th Avenue Shopping, Times Square, Central Park, MOMA, and Rockefeller Center. We had a delux room with a king size bed which was super comfy. The bathroom was really nice and clean. The elevator situation isn't that bad, but there are 3 and each only holds 5 people. At some times it was hard to catch an elevator going down that had room for us, so we took the stairs (from 10th floor). Might be worth staying on the lower floors so that can be an option. It was super cold out while we were there but we never had to touch the thermostat once, which I found amazing. The room was just always the perfect temperature. My only complaint is that we paid more for a room with an exterior window, and we ended up facing the other side of the Warwick and didn't have a view at all. That was kinda disappointing. Our shuttle stood us up on our trip back to the hotel but the concierage jumped on it and got us a new shuttle that arrived in 15 minutes. Worked out great.

Location with quaintness

The Warwick is a lovely hotel on the corner of 54th and 6th. The staff starting at the front desk to the bellmen and the housekeeping staff were absolutely wonderful. They were never too busy to assist with directions, dining or subway suggestions. Everytime we returned to our hotel we were greeted with a warm welcome. It was like coming home. It is a small hotel but has all the amenties of the larger chains without the extra charges. The location is great for walking. Just one block from 5th at Tiffany's, three blocks to Radio City and Rockefeller Center. In the other direction, an easy walk to Time Square. There are 2 restaurants at the hotel, however we were never there long enough to eat. However, both menus looked delicious. They do offer 24 hr. room service. The only negative was there was not a vent in the bathroom so it was a little steamy. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel. This is my 3rd trip to NYC. If I ever return, I'll book the Warwick again.

Warwick New York Hotel

Minuses: We booked (and paid for) a king size bed but had to request it when issued a room with a queen. Breakfast was a shocker. Almost $70 bucks for two. Whoa! By the way, an automatic 15% gratity was added (before earned). We think service would have been better, if the customer added the tip. The next two mornings we had breakfast at Certi's (on 55th right arounnd the corner). I think Certi's is one of NYC best kept secrets. Pluses: Great location and room. Just a few blocks away from all the activities. The hotel amentities were great, as well as the hotel staff. Didn't know that Cary Grant lived at the Warwick for 12 plus years.
