This is a great hotel, in a very nice location! The rooms are really cool, and the staff is very helpful. Take advantage of the whenever/whatever room service, with several menus from morning to night :)
Great Stay

The W was wonderful. The staff was completely accomadating and went out of their way to help with absolutely everything. A gentleman who worked there rode down in the elevator with me and when I mentioned I hadn't yet had coffee, he ran to the kitchen and brought it right out. The super front desk woman, X, gave me two free drinks at the bar the night I checked it. It was very relaxing not having to worry about a thing while I was there.
The only negative is the room layout. The rooms are very small and the bathroom has a shuttered window into the room. Not too much privacy there.
Other than that I would go back in a minute!

The W Lakeshore overlooks the Lake and Navy Pier. Easy access to the beach to run or play! Only a short walk to Michigan Avenue. Great place to be!!! We will return!

We visited the W Lakeshore for a long weekend in celebration of our 10 year anniversary. The hotel was exceptional in terms of room quality and cleanliness. Our room (fabulous suite) was spectacular, with an UNBELIEVABLE view of the Lake from both the sitting area/den and the bedroom/bathroom. Our room was very private; we felt like we had our very own apartment (with the best view in Chicago). The service at the hotel was top notch; it is true what they say, "whatever, whenever." We especially appreciated the concierge service; Lois, Ramon, and Jaclyn were outstanding. Not only did they give us great advice, but they also booked all of our reservations, and we were very well received at each place they sent us. Our favorite restaurants during our stay were Rosebud (Italian) and Zed 451 (Brazilian Steakhouse), and these were both highly recommended by the concierge. The Bliss Spa, located inside the hotel, was fantastic, and we visited it frequently during our stay. The hotel restaurant was also very good; we especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I would also like to mention the cleaning service at the hotel. One afternoon, I was not feeling well and stayed in the room for a few hours to rest, and the housekeeper genuinely offered her concern and asked if she could bring me something to eat or drink. We truly felt like honored guests at the hotel during our entire stay. We will absolutely stay at the W Lakeshore when we return to the Chicago area.
No Privacy, Great View

This hotel was very nice, the staff was excellent and the beds were AMAZING. Our room looked right out to the Navy Pier and there was always a taxi outside waiting to take you somewhere. I do have to say that all of the reviews about the lack of privacy for the bathroom are spot on! You better trust the person you are staying with does not open those blinds at the wrong time :) I would definately stay there again!
