Great location and service

The Best Western Carlton is in a great location -- walking distance to the sights such as Parliament House, museums, shopping, harbour as well as the bus stop where you catch the bus that will take you to the Victoria-Vancouver ferry. The hotel is clean and the front desk most helpful. Though the hotel itself does not have a restaurant, it is adjacent to the De Dutch Pannekoek which serves an excellent breakfast with a wide range of options. The hotel is excellent value for money.

Rates were good, location was good (lots of stuff within walking distance), hotel staff was great. They let me take over their lobby for a good 6 hours while I was training a new rep in the area and when my daughter threw up on her bed at 10PM one night they quickly came up and took away all the old sheets and made the bed for us. Only complaint I had was with the restaurant in the holday (De Dutch).. I was in there for 15 minutes without anyone even giving us a menu... luckily we went to John's Place just down the street (good breakfast place). Over all i give it 2 thumbs up!

I chose this hotel for its downtown location but got a lot more. The hotel was centrally located, everything you could want from Chinatown to the waterfront to the tram stops within a 5 block radius. Great cafes, restaurants, shopping, nightlife. The bars don't close till after 2a.m. like in the states so if you want to go to bed early(which you shouldn't) don't get a room on the street side. The pubs in the area are all close and you don't need to waste a taxi on anything except for maybe the airport unless you don't want to take advantage of the shuttle that stops at just about every hotel downtown. The shuttle runs on time and is $18 CAN. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast and lunch and is quite good. I had a suite with a kitchen and it was clean, well stocked, very comfortable and welcoming. The staff was very knowledgeable of sights about town and had coupons and maps. Don't try to check in early. But if you do they can hold your luggage so you can get acquainted with the area until your room is ready. I loved this hotel and would recommed it to anyone who chooses to stay here.

Better than we expected. Great location!

Everybody there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The valet service is especially valuable. The room itself was pretty good for a budget hotel, but the service was much more than you would expect. The location is really neat - there is plenty to do within walking distance. The next time we're in Canada - we'll go back.
