Description: This hotel, now called the Renaissance Riverview, is very up-to-date and has a nautical theme. For example, the elevator announces each floor as if it were a deck on a cruise ship. It is on the river, right across the street from the Convention Center, which is connected by a walkway. There are a number of restaurants nearby, and it is across the street from The Exploreum and has easy access to public transportation, if you should require it. Thanks to a promotion by Marriott, we were upgraded to Gold elite status, and were therefore able to take advantage of the concierge lounge open for breakfast and a light dinner Sunday evening thru Friday morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel if visiting mobile for work or pleasure.
