Just returned from our first stay a the Comfort Suites MIssion Valley. The grounds were very lovely, clean and the pool area was very nice. We had a "kids suite" with the bunk beds and king bed. It was nice to have the extra beds but it was a small room to have all that furniture in so it felt a little claustrophobic at times. The room was very clean, beds comfortable and the bathroom was very large and had all new tile and was very clean. The only strange thing was this curved shower curtain rod that had a too-short curtain on it so the minute you started showering the floors were soaked and we went through all the clean towels! But that can be fixed easily.
the breakfast in the morning was plentiful with eggs, cereals, make your own waffles, danishes, fruits, breads, etc. Plenty of seating indoor and out on the patio, which was so lovely and a nice way to start the day. My teens enjoyed the workout room also. All in all a very nice place to stay and a good value for the dollar. I would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights recently. At first glance it looks very nice. We were on the 3rd floor and it immediately smelled musty when we got off the elevator. The room was small, but adequate, although old and rather threadbare looking. When I woke up the second day, I discovered bites all over me, and upon investigating, we saw bed bugs all over the sheets. We did not notice them previously, as we were exhausted and got in late from the wedding we were there to attend. I have an extreme allergy to bed bugs and my husband was livid. Upon talking to the manager, we were told he would refund us one night, we are awaiting compensation for it as I type this. I am sure the online travel website will make it right, as we have had good experiences with them every time we've used them. The manager said his exterminating company didn't find any bed bugs. Well...."duh." I have worked for 4 top hotels and know that no exterminating company who has a big contract would ever admit that they were not doing their job. So.....All I can say is.....If you're not allergic to bed bugs and don't mind tons of them crawling all over you, then for sure go......It's reasonably priced and centrally located, and no extra charge for the bed bugs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Overall a great vacation

Upon our check-in, that was later in the evening, the gentleman who helped me was very nice and quick! After going to the room we realized it was located against a door to enter and exit the rooms (which was quite noisy). I asked to be moved and that again was taken care of quickly. The staff-from the front desk to the housekeepers-were all very friendly. The breakfast was okay, nothing over the top (the basic). The one suggestion that I do have(which I am not sure how "do-able" it is) Is to try and quiet down the doors. Everytime someone within four or five doors from us opened or closed their doors, it woke us up! It is very close to beaches, Sea World and downtown.Overall a nice place to stay, especially for the price we got it for!
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

We stayed for two nights & would never return again. The rooms smell like urine & the king size suite is really small. The word "suite" is misleading, it felt like we were in small box. Our first room smelled like urine, but we didn't complain because we thought we could air it out overnight. The smell did not get better the next day & when we returned from Sea World for our second night stay we got our room changed and the second room smelled like strong chemicals trying to disguise the smell of urine. We didn't complain because it was our last night & we were exhausted from Sea World. Right when we were getting ready for bed, the fire alarm went off and we couldn't get through to the front desk when we tried to call. We finally found out that someone had intentionally set it off. Then 30 minutes later we get a loud banging on our door & someone was trying to come in. When I went to the door someone was standing out there and said that the front desk had given them the wrong room number. Okay, I at this point wanted to leave and drive back home to L.A., but my husband was too tired from the day to drive. We then get a call from the front desk checking to see who we were because they weren't aware that we had changed rooms. I would NEVER return to this hotel again.
All the Clerks at the front desk were very friendly.
