One of the better hotels in Syracuse

We have been traveling to Syracuse a lot in the past 8 months and so far this is the best hotel we have stayed in while visiting here. It is not the best Double Tree we've ever stayed in by far but it hands down beats the other local hotels we've tried while in the area. The staff is very helpful and polite. The bed comfort is ok but not as comfortable as other Double Trees if that is what your used to. Cleanliness was just ok too, we had lime build up around our bathroom faucet, dust and debris stuck to our bathroom tile and baseboard which is unlike the standard of most Double Trees. The rooms seemed a little dated but over all it has been our best experience so far. The restaurant is pretty expensive for breakfast but the food was good. If you stay here do not forget to put your Do Not Disturb sign on your door if your there to relax because the maid was knocking every morning by 9 am to clean the room which seemed just a tad early.

high price without high quality

Do you expect high quality when you pay over 300 dollars for a room? Do you like your bathrooms spotless? I stayed in a better room in Aruba just 2 months prior for one sixth the cost. The bathroom floor was not clean and that made me wonder about the rest of the room. The room was outdated and small considering the exhorbitant cost. The restaurant was more like a diner (without the low prices).

Great Place to Stay

My wife and I feel this was one of the best places we have stayed. The hotel had a prom and some other bus loads of teenagers in the building. When we went to bed we thought this was going to be a long and noisy night. We slept very well. The beds were very confortable and we didn't even notice anyone else in the hotel. The cookie they give you when you check in was wonderful. In fact, we bought 6 more cookies the next morning. The only down side was there was no free breakfast the next morning like most hotels provide. In fact, the restaurant, the Regatta, had a breakfast buffett but it was $13.95 per person. We chose to go to Denny's just down the road. Everything else was great.

Stayed at hotel and attended wedding there.

I was very pleased with almost all aspects of the hotel but would have preferred a buffet continental breakfast. Although many guests drove, we flew in the evening before the wedding and enjoyed the convenience of the shuttle provided by the hotel. After the reception it was so nice not to have to travel but instead simply go up to the room and settle in for the night.

Excellent Hotel

I stayed here with a group of others for a conference in downtown Syracuse. The only drawback for me was a personal thing. I like to be able to walk to a restaurant nearby and there isn't much other than a Denny's which was ok. You have to drive to get decent food nearby unless you order Hotel food which i did not so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. The room was immaculate and the bed was better than my own bed at home! The room was very clean as was the bathroom. The internet is available through the TV and my controller did not work. I called the front desk and within minutes a maint. worker showed up and fixed the remote. Then about 20 minutes later the desk called to see if the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. There was a bridal show of some sort going on while we stayed there and you would have never known the hotel staff was busy with the excellent customer service they provided. The hotel itself was very nice, clean hallways, rugs were clean, no bad smells. I was very impressed. I stay at alot of hotels across the East and this one was by far one of the best in the 100-150.00 price range. I will most definetly stay again if I am ever out that way.
