Best Hotel Ever

  • April 26, 2006

My boyfriend and I stayed here when we took our first out of town trip together and wanted something nice that was moderatly priced. We had an awesome view and a very nice clean room. The pictures on this website need updating because the decor is much nicer, it looks nothing at all like the pictures. Very cozy, best hotel ever.

Sand Pebbles Inn

How I found it: I really didn’t have much to go on when I booked this place. The B&B I had called didn’t have anything available for the day I wanted, so I asked for a suggestion and was pointed to the Sand Pebbles. I looked it up on the Internet, thought that the pictures looked nice, it was located right on the beach, the price was right, and rooms were available for booking then and there (cambriahotels.com). Not wanting to spend more time looking for a place, I reserved a room for two with a queen size bed. There are several other inns nearby that seemed comparable. Was it worth it?: Yes, as I mentioned, decor was fairly charming, it was located across from a lovely beach, the price was right, and rooms were available for booking then and there. My priorities at the time were 1) budget (they even gave AAA discounts), convenience, and availability. It should go without saying that cleanliness is always a priority for me. What I found: the “Inn” is actually a sort of renovated, wannabe-B&B motel. S. P. Inn turned out to be a cross between Quality Inn (with their free continental breakfast out of a Costco-esque bakery box) and a lower budget B&B (warm & cozy decor). Comfortable and clean, kind of felt like home, all rooms have private bathrooms, unlike some B&Bs, we also had a mini refrigerator with complimentary bottled water, a thin down-comforter, cable, and I mustn’t forget the Andes mints on the nightstand. This place was fine for lodging but I wouldn’t bother to wake up for the breakfast that is included (unless you’re one of those who love to wake up early and each some instant oatmeal, cereal, or bakery-in-a-box type foods).
