Best of Vermont

My girlfriend and I had never been to Vermont and had no idea where to stay. We depended on the reviews from prior travelers and decided to stay at the Acardy at the Sunderland Lodge, since it received good remarks. Vermont was as beautiful as we had hoped; but the lodge was even better. The room was clean, pet friendly, and had all the amenities needed: a fridge, tv, extra heater, and snacks to eat. The host, makes amazing pizza and a better breakfast. All of his baked pastries were made daily, and he provided fresh fruit and excellent coffee. Bert was also extremely helpful in giving recommendations on where to eat and direction to the slopes. We will definitely return to Vermont and stay him!

Our stay at Arcady was better than anticipated. Bert is a wonderful host and excellent cook; ready with advice on where to dine in Manchester and information on the local ski slopes. The room was clean and quiet with beautiful views of the snow-covered forest. It was our first time staying in Vermont and we will certainly return.

I travel extensively within the USA/abroad, and have found a rural jewel at Arcady. Bert is the ultimate host; charming, knowledgeable, and gracious. A professional chef, everything he serves is made fresh each day, including melt-in-your-mouth croissants! This was not my first visit, nor will it be my last - I've yet to find an omelet that compares with Bert's. I highly recommend: lovely rooms, welcoming hospitality, food to tickle your palate...Thanks Bert!

We found this lodge online and booked it because of the affordable price. We were just looking for a place to stay for the night and not too worried about the quality. Well, we got a great price and an even better experience! The room was very clean, spacious, cosy and private. The owner of the lodge is very friendly and runs everything. He makes a delicious homemade European breakfast (included in the price) and will give you good advice on where to go and what to see in the area. The lodge is very close to Manchester with all the outlets and close to a few ski areas (Stratton, Bromley, Magic Mountain, Okemo). Great experience, definitely recommended - will stay there again.

Outstanding experience.

We were a girls basketball team and rented the entire place. Owner is a former European chef and executive for major international hotel chain. Understands how to make guests welcome, safe, and comfortable !!!
