Lousy Hotel

Reserved two nights, was guaranteed a "king suite". Turned out to be a regular hotel room with a nice king bed which overfilled the room plus a sofa bed which was old, thin, and lumpy. When we tried to pull it out, it was stuck and took the better part of 10 minutes to get it out. In addition, while pulling out the sofa to get the bed out, numerous bottle caps and trash were scattered behind the bed. The breakfast was truly lousy. The room is miniscule, you end up stepping over other folks to get your toast and dried scrambled eggs. This is truly overpriced. We had paid for two nights in advance and left after the first night because the room truly was not what i expected. Best Western should be ashamed.

We stayed at Best Western Catalina Inn on Oracle Rd in Tucson, Az for a week. It was very busy the weekend we arrived due to University homecoming. When we checked in they had us down for a smoking room, even through the reservation showed nonsmoking and were made 4 months prior. They were able to accommidate us with a nonsmoking room. We spent one night in that room. First we found it to be too small even though it had 2 queen beds, which was great sleeping. Second, the carpet was really dirty, my feet were black after walking on the carpet a short time. The next morning we were sneezing and blowing our noses so much we had to ask for a different room. Again, they accommidated us with a free upgrade (Gold Crown member) to a King 2 room suite. We were much happier and stopped sneezing! They offer various types of rooms and have wonderful beds. The pool was on the small side and the depth went from 3 feet to 8 feet very fast. Not a pool for little kids. Also, were the tables were set up outside around the pool and cafe had alot of bird crap on the cement walls. Not too appealing. The full breakfast was also wonderful, with 3 kinds of juices, milk, 3 kinds of cold cereals, 2 hot cereals, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, sausages, waffles, various breads. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly and accommidating. We would difidently stay there again.

I stayed at the Best Western Inn & Suites in Tucson and had a very negative experience. My room was located near the Housekeeping center (washers, supplies, carts, etc.) and this was the noisiest stay I have ever had in a hotel. I could hear the housekeeping carts being rolled by my room constantly starting from a very early hour (about 5am), the staff talking to each other, and various maintenance around the property. The housekeeping noise wasn't the only disturbance--other guests were quite loud outside their rooms and the patio area around the pool during "social hour" and into late in the evening made the entire property far from a relaxing atmosphere. When I called to ask to be switched to a different room, the front desk was less than accomodating, despite the hotel not being at capacity. This room was so loud and intrusive that I checked out of the hotel four hours before I needed to leave for the airport--I didn't have anywhere to go, but I would rather be anywhere than at that facility.

A great place to stay

The front desk was very knowledgable with directions . The beds were very comfortable, rooms clean, great complimentary breakfast and social hour. They have grills and accessarys to use at the pool area. I felt very safe walking around the area even in the evening.
