Had a great time. Staff was very helpful & the grounds including the pool were in good shape. The walking track which was .9 miles long was also a plus. the only draw back may be that there is no microwave in the Tucson rooms. Great location in the middle of it all. Car rental was just across the street. The private hot tub was nice to have. All in all for the price we paid it was well worth the stay. We will go back soon.
Pretty but Bad Customer Service at Front Desk

At check in the staff was rude when I asked for an explanation of why I had to fill out and sign a form in 3 places. Quote "Haven't you seen a hotel registration form?" They failed to explain what I was signing, including the early check out fee! Also, the computer was down and they couldn't give me a key to my room. They took me to my room and said that someone would bring me a key. I waited and waited, then called, and was told they were on their way. They balked when I asked if they would bring the key to the pool (I had been sitting in my room not able to leave w/out a key) but they did agree. There were NO towels at the pool and no drink service at the pool after six. Once I got back to my room there was no electricity. When I called the front desk they did not apologize nor seemed concerned in the least for my trouble. They said that the electric company was going to come and check the transformer. I politely asked if they could move me and was told they did not know which rooms had electric. When I looked outside most of the other lights in the other buildings were on. Then to make it worse, my room is now dark and I have the door propped open with a chair, staff walked by the room with a flash light and Never said one word to me. Not are you ok, do you need a flashlight, come down to the lobby we have light, nothing! And yes, they did see me. I then used my cell phone as a makeshift flashlight, packed in virtual darkness, and left. I would not stay there.

Awesome hotel & grounds. Beautiful area and pool. Had a wonderful room with an upgrade, even booked one extra night. Only drawback was a newly installed thermostat that kept the room too warm ... Great experience and we will be back next spring, and will request same room.

Truly a nice place to stay. Not 'super new' but definitely clean. What was good/bad:
1) Stayed in a 700 sq ft Villa which had ample space for 4 of us. Bad: Do not agree that 6 could fit comfortably.
2) Nice to have a kitchen (used fridge, oven, and got the pots/pans/utencils from housekeeping - no charge). Bad: Fridge is a mini-bar type fridge! Tiny.
3) So QUIET ... heavenly to not be woken up by other people or noises when on vacation.
4) Pool area great: big enough for many people, kids didn't bother anyone, 80's music playing, and drinks at the bar. Bad: Staff doesn't do a good job keeping clean/dry towels on hand. We brought our own.
5) Walking/jogging path: Wonderful! Bunnies, quail, blooming cactus, flowers, interesting trees. Great for a walk with kids (take camera) or jog/walk for relaxation. Bad: Par course is super old/broken.
6) Front desk: Bad: People were not very nice.
7) Beds: Comfy! Slept like a baby!
8) Housekeeping: Great. Had multiple reasons to call them later in the evening (for example: more blankets) and they showed up within 10 minutes. Nice people too.
9) Tennis Court: Racquets/balls are free (housekeeping brings them over). Bad: Tennis court is crappy. Didn't matter to us as we are not 'pros' so we had a great time playing on the cracked court and laughed a lot!!
Overall, a nice/relaxing time for us. We have 6 in our family so I am not sure if we would go again (700 sq ft is their biggest Villa) but if it was only 4 of us, we would. There are sidewalks throughout the complex and my daughter brought her scooter and had fun riding around. Very close to shopping/restaurants/downtown Scottsdale which was great.
Charming Retreat

Even from Phoenix this was a nice retreat. The lobby and grounds are lovely with southwest design and desert landscape. There are many activities on the grounds to do like swimming, tennis, there is a croquet court and a jogging trail. The room I stayed in had a hottub on a private patio which was a little extra but well worth it. If you stay in a room with a hottub be sure to check outside the patio gate for the controls to the hottub. I loved the room, very spacious with a kitchenette and a livingroom; decorated with southwest decor and wooden beam ceilings. The kitchenette did not come with dishes, utensils and such but I believe you can get those from housekeeping. The livingroom had a fireplace and was very cozy and the king size bed was so comfy with down pillows and comforter. The bottled water in the room, however, had a charge of $4.00 a bottle. There did not appear to be anyway to connect a dvd player and there wasn't one in the room. The bathroom was very nice and clean. You must know that check in is not until 4 p.m. and there may be a few minutes wait while the room is being cleaned even after 4, however, as soon as we were checked in there was an offer from the bellhop to guide us to our room (by following his golf cart) as the grounds are extensive, be sure to have some tip money handy. Check out is at noon. Check in/out info does not seem to be posted anywhere and I had to call the hotel to get this info. I had an absolutely wonderful get away at this hotel. I would definitely stay again.
