Busy Hotel close to LAX

Stayed one night at the end of our vacation to be close to LAX for morning flight. Hotel staff were friendly upon check in an asked for preference of room location. Room was compact but clean and decorated nicely. Valet parking is the only option; but we were able to park the rental car temporarily to check-in prior to returning the car without paying to park. We returned the car and walked back to the hotel which was a little scary at night but not too bad. There is a starbucks in the hotel but in the morning it is very busy; line outside the door. Breakfast available in hotel was average. Internet access was 10.95 per night. Overall, if you need to be close to the airport this is a good choice. Airport shuttle came by the hotel every 15 minutes; but it was shared with other hotels so after picking us up we went to four other hotels before being shuttled to the airport.

I forgot my coach sandles in my room and when I called after housekeeping had finished cleaning the room I asked if there had reported it to there manger or lose & found they told me that they did not find anything. I think they should have more honest people when people leave things behind. Never happening here again
Not so great service

I asked the concierge one question and he rolled his eyes and didn't really answer my question. I believe my question was something like; is there something to do around the hotel? He then directed me to of course an expensive tour which the hotel gets comission on and I was not interested in. Then later that day I meet a nicer concierge, but he defintley was pushing the same tours. I found out you can use the transit system in L.A. but these people will refer you to a 50 dollar cab ride (one way) into the city because they don't know anything about it. I found this to be stunning, either they are playing stupid to get commission from these cab companies and tours or they are just plain stupid. Knowledge is vital; the hotel should invest in this. One of the bartenders in the hotel was simply rude to everyone. He was an older white man and was just awfully sarcastic and rude to both the staff and the customers. However, I must admitt everyone else I came into contact with was great! I however never stayed in a hotel where they made you pay for the internet service, but of course they did.

The hotel was very clean and the service was excellent. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was delicious (extra charge). The only downside was that there were no restaurants in walking distance and the giftshop prices for drinks, snacks etc. were very expensive.
