not a pleasant place

this hotel promised a lot and delivered very little. the staff were not helpful or very friendly. i was promised early check in and did not get it. i couldn't even check in until 4:00 on the nose. then, the cleaning crew was still in my room when i got up there with my bedraggled weary children and luggage in tow. we waited in the hall while they cleaned the room. the room looked okay, but the bathroom was disgusting on further examination. there was black mold/scum around all of the fixtures and hideous black, sticky scum under the bathmat...which my 5 year old pointed out while bathing! ack! the pool is small but fun due to the slide. the hotel is incredibly noisy and smells of chlorine overwhelmingly. the breakfast leaves a bit to be desired, but is adequate. i definitely do not think this hotel is worth what they charge and needs to have much higher standards of cleanliness in the bathrooms.

This hotel experience went above and beyond my wildest expectations. Fantastic service, excellent food, exciting pool activities for my kids-- including a 3 story slide!! I will most definitely be staying here again and again.
Topeka trip

If had to stay in Topeka again, would probably choose the Holiday Inn Express on Robinson--newer hotel, queen size beds instead of full size.

The food service was not good, staff was very unfriendly and unhelpfull, especially the employees at breakfast. The kids enjoyed the pool area and games but at night it was very loud, we were located right next to the pool area. We called the front desk but nothing was done. The hotel is also dated, old furniture and just very low budget
