Terrible time at the Hyatt

Quote: We did not have a very good exp. with this property. The hot tub did not work until the last day of our trip and with the weather not cooperating, that would have been very nice relief. On the second day of our trip I was struck in the head by a vent as I showered in my room, so that did not help much to improve my mood. I was told I would be contacted by the hotel manager after it took several hours to replace, but that never happened. The property is begining to show its age so keep that in mind.

Perfect!

Quote: After shopping online for and getting a good room rate for the Partial Gulf View King room we arrived during the coldest day in Key West history. Still much warmer than Ohio. Was greeted with champagne while we checked in. We arrived 4 hours early but the hot checked us in. We had been offered an upgrade in room for a small fee prior to our arrival date. They actually upgraded us x2 to the Deluxe Full Gulf View room. Room was great with two balconies, furnished and both facing the gulf. Great views, warm and quiet, nicely appointed suite and bath. Service was great. Concierge assisted with several requests and always came through and in good time. Was given two gift certificates to the Shor American Seafood Grill, excellent on site... Quote: Very polite and attentive staff, beautiful room with view of the bay.Fabulous sunset views from the hotel dock. Food and drink prices a liitle expensive, however service was outstanding.

Overpriced but very nice

Quote: All in all we had a good experience. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance from a ton of different activites and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool is small with no beachfront to speak of but the views off the marina are beautiful. We are not high maintenance travelers so we don't need to be pampered but for the price you pay for the rooms it would have been nice if they'd throw in a continental breakfast. We had a cityroom view which actually looked over one of the walkways to the pool so again we were paying for location of the hotel more than anything else. I would splurge again though we had a great time.

Definately make return visit

Good If Not Perfect

Quote: Successful renovation. Very clean room in a very tropical decor. Some view from most rooms and good view of sunset from a small hotel dock. Only complaint about the room was that the mattresses were kind of shot and did not seem to be the Hyatt-issue super beds (but I suppose that could be a one-room problem). Soundproofing was good, which was important on a weekend night. By Hyatt standards this is a very small property, and room rates vary dramatically depending on season and what is going on. At the low end I like the place. At the high end it gets pricey. Book accordingly based on your own value scale.

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE

Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa
Quote: Wonderful location near Duval Street and Mallory Square. Our room was average size. The airconditioning was a problem. We had to rig some chairs and blankets so it wouldn't blow on us while we were sleeping. Also, the room was never cleaned until late afternoon, which was annoying.

Beautiful Location

Quote: This hotel is in a very good location. It's a couple of blocks from Duval Street and Mallory Square. We stayed five nights. We did have some problems. We had to rig up a few chairs to block the air conditioning unit so it wouldn't blow right on us while we were sleeping. Also, the room was never made up until late in the afternoon. Not too convenient. Otherwise, a lovely spot.
