The bare essentials...it's a place to crash is about it. Rooms are not clean, showers are old and the hottub is never in service.
great hotel for its price and location

we were more than happy for the 4 days stay in mountain lodge. the room was big enough with no funny odor. the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The location was close to almost everything you need including to the lift (10 min walk).
the only thing could have been better would be an onsite hot tub and internet service. but overall experience was very positive, I'd recommend this hotel for budgeted skier and snowboarder.

Absolutely horrible. No hair dryer, no ice machine, no hot tub, no internet access. Thin walls. VERY VERY NOISY. If you want a good night sleep dont come here. Permanent housing upstairs rented out to housekeeping and they have absoluetly no regard for guests. I had to call security every night to make them be quiet at 2 am.
Poorly Managed and Poorly Maintained

It is glaringly apparent that the owners of this Lodge keep taking money from travelers at this Lodge, but nothing is being put into it. It is so old and needed updating at least a decade ago. It was not clean, the faucets had so much built up gunk around them, as well as the tub. The shower would go from warm to freezing and then to scalding hot. The toilet got clogged and we waited over 2hrs for help so we could use it. There were only college kids at the front desk, no manager on sight, no maintenance man either. The breakfast that is part of the rate was minimum... frozen bagels that you can't cut with the plastic knives provided, pastries and cereal. We were just happy to get coffee and toast. One day there was none, however, because someone in the kitchen took the keys to the refrigerators home. The worst part was that the heat was soooo high in our room and we baked every night. They said the maintenance person would fix it while we skiied one day, but it never changed. We kept the window open, but there was no screen in the window, so we couldn't sleep with it open or we would have. The room was so small we tripped over our ski stuff and suitcases every night. No closet, no floor space. We tried to move, but all of Summit County was sold out. The outside stairway was falling off and dangerous. Unfortunately no money is put into even the basic needs for people to be able to stay at this "Lodge" It was not clean and we couldn't even get a decent shower or a decent night's sleep with the thermostat not working.
Would not stay here again

I read the reviews but figured a short night sleep in a $200 + room would be managable. The rooms were small, old, broken but worst of all the heat wouldn't turn off and it was so hot so we had to move to a different room at 11pm at night. We had the window wide open and it was still sooo hot. I would not stay here again. I would pay the extra money and stay in a nicer place. The location was good and the staff was nice and they probably have to deal with complains all the time. It is too bad the owners can't redo the bathrooms, beds and heating system and it would be a cute LITTLE motel. If you are having second thoughts, even if you won't be in the room very much, do not stay here. It is not relaxing.
