Pleasant staff, clean room although small. Old building with retrofitted bathroom, etc..reminded us of old hotels in Europe. Served our needs for a place to sleep overnight. Size and number of towels was skimpy, and staff didn't understand Wifi access (not free by our understanding).
A functional room that met our needs nicely.

The attached restaurant was outstanding in menu, service and price. This is an old hotel with old bathrooms, but they are functional, a few have whirlpool tubs. All had shower/tub combination. The furnishings are new and comfortable. Some rooms with only one bed were quite small and had only a desk chair and no easy chair. The two bed rooms (and King room) have nice comfortable easy chairs. Just across the street is tunnel access to Mayo Clinic, just two blocks away ... an easy and comfortable walk. We came to stay two days and ended up being here for a month. Would definitely return. The staff is great and all we needed is so readily available.
Can't believe the reviews....0 STARS from me!

My husband, 3 week old baby, and I drove 6 hours to get to Rochester the night before my daughter's doctor appointment. We arrived at midnight to an empty front desk. I waited for about 15 minutes before some finally came with a load of towels to fold, and then tried checking into the hotel and they apparently did not have my reservation?!, I went to my car to call the number on my printed confirmation from the internet, while I was sitting in the car the lady came out and knocked on the window - I rolled it down and she said, "Oh, I found it!" Ok, so go get checked in, parked, unload everything you need for yourself and a baby - and then enter the ANCIENT, BARELY RUNNING elevator! We go up to our floor and I could have sworn we were in a ghetto apartment building. It was quite a trek to our room, an honestly all I could think of is if there were a fire how the heck do we get out of this place?? So we get to our room, and I am shocked...it is TINY. There is room for two full size beds and that is it. Luckily we have a room with one full size bed, so there is room for us to set up my daughters pack-n-play. There is about a foot clearance between the foot of our bed and the door to go into the bathroom. In the tiny bathroom - there is a pedestal sink straight ahead, a stand-up shower in one corner, and the small toilet right next to it in the other corner. Oh yes, the street noise was unbearable as well - you could tell when bar close was!! Don't go there!!!!!!!!!!!

I absoluely loved this old hotel with the charm, beauty and grace in the era which is was built. The staff was curteous and gracious. I was here for business and pleasure and thoroughly enjoyed my trip. I would recommend this to anyone who is traveling in the area.
Go somewhere else!!!

booked my 5 night stay at this hotel because I had to take my 2 year old daughter to the Mayo Clinic. Upon arrival, I was shocked to discover that the rooms did not have a micro/fridge as posted on their website. I immediately went to the front desk and was told that not only did they not have any micro's/fridges in their rooms, but none to share in the lobby area etc. This posed a huge proble for me as my daughter has meds that need to be refridgerated etc. I said that I needed to cancel my reservation and was told that it was non refundable because I booked it on the days inn website. To add insult to injury, this honestly was the poorest hotel I've ever stayed at...I can't believe Days Inn would out their sign on something so disgraceful. Their website says "newly renovated in 2007"...our rooms renovation included a new sink in the bathroom - that was it. Also, the heat was stuck in the "on" position, so we had the run the 20 year old window air conditioner to keep it comfortable. The beds had a huge sag in the middle, only one ice machine for the entire hotel, no vent in the bathroom to get rid of the steam, the toilet was pushed so tightly against the wall that you literally had to turn almost sideways to use it, and the rooms themselves were smaller than anything I've ever seen before. I talked to several people at the mayo clinic about my experience and was told that they don't ever recommend going there because of the problems people have. At the end of the day, I paid $* to be irritated and upset, and still stayed somewhere else.
