Just returned and would highly recommend this hotel for families. We could not get our kids out ofd the the pool! The beach was fabulous and the snorkeling right on the beach was outstading...better than Balck Rock and much better than the paid for snorkeling cruises. We loved this resort and would highly recommend! The staff was vwery attentive and helpful. I can't say enough good things about this resort! We had a one bedroom on the first floor of building 6. WE had a great view out of our room and could go to the pool right out the slider door.
Outstanding!

Spent a week in Bldg 7, 6th floor studio with incredible ocean view. Bed very comfortable, quiet location, staff friendly, small amount of kitchen counter space, dishwasher, washer and dryer in unit. Garden tub, dual head shower, perfect for single or couple. Grills available in pool area of each building.
1 bedroom units have much larger kitchen and living area, larger balcony
Can't wait to go back.
Location of resort is convenient and a short drive to Safeway, general store on premises. Much more economical to cook yourself. On-site restaurants on the expensive side.
Would definately return!!!

The best hotel we stayed in on Maui. The only complaint we had is that we should've stayed longer! We had a room that was ADA compliant and everything was just perfect. We will return.

The setting was beautiful...the room was nice and cleaned well everyday. The room wasn't in a good location and it made the stay somewhat difficult. It was situated just above the outdoor kitchen and was very loud, voices/plates/carts at all hours from early morning to late at night - also it didn't look nice looking into the back door of the kitchen.
The pool was closed often with no reason given - the desk staff was not friendly nor helpful. The men at the door/bellmen were wonderful and were happy to help in any way.
The food at the outdoor patio area was very slow to serve but the food was good. Room service food was good.
For the price I would definately look for another place to stay next time - way too expensive for what we got. ........... I also think the name "Villas" is misleading - why they are called villas isn't clear to me, I thought we would be staying in stand alone units as we have in other areas that have called the accomodations villas but these are just simple hotel rooms - I was disappointed but still the room was a good size and the kitchen well appointed.
We've stayed in Maui many times and we will go back to another spot and not stay at the Westin again.
Fabulous

We own at this resort, and although it was pricey, we always come home refreshed and ready to go back. The restaurants here are just a convenience. Better to shop at Safeway or Star Market and do your own cooking. The rooms are nicely equipt for cooking in your condo or studio or barbecue by the pool. If you don't want to cook, hop on the shuttle to Whalers Village or Lahaina for some great places to eat. If you like sushi, we found a fantastic place called Sansai at Kapalua, but you have to drive there. Every weekend they have a hula demonstration from a local hula school. This was so fun to watch, as the dancers ranged in age from 3 to later teens. Very nice, and gave us a sense of the importance of this tradition. There are activities each day for those who are interested. We go there to do nothing but relax, and there is plenty of that! My highlight is the snorkeling, and some of the best can be found right here at this beach. If you are patient, you will almost always see a sea turtle or two. Our one complaint was check in. We arrived at 1 PM for a 3 PM check in. They gave us a pager that would buzz when our room was ready, at or before 3 PM. It never did buzz, so a bit after 3 PM we went to the desk to inquire. We had to stand in line for over 30 minutes to ask when our room would be ready. I think they should have a special line for people who have already checked in.
A gorgeous room and a great place to stay! We will go back as soon as we can!
