Very noisy

We were given a room directly over the bar, where a band played until midnight each night. It was incredibly noisy, so we asked for a different room. The only room they had available was a smaller room with a smaller bed, which was a little less noisy. We took the smaller room because the noise in the original room was unbearable. But we could still hear the music in the smaller room, making it hard to fall asleep. We asked for a discount on our bill since we paid for a queen bed and a larger room but had to sleep in a double bed in a smaller room, but they refused to give us a discount. If we had booked a motel for $75/night then we might expect a noisy room, but when you're spending over $200/night you assume you won't be able to hear every word that the band is singing. And if you pay for a queen bed you expect one to be available. Being pregnant made it even more difficult to fit in the double bed, with little room for the support pillows I need to sleep comfortably, and I did not get a good nights rest like the baby needs. The only way I would ever recommend this hotel to anyone is if they already planned on staying up after midnight. Pastry/bagels were promised for breakfast but were gone by 8:30 and not replenished. Rooms were clean but tub could have used a good scrubbing. Pool and grounds were nice.

We cant wait to return!!!!! We normally stay with the cookie cutter hotels. We wanted to stay far away from the casinos and Mystic. The hotel was located about 10 minutes from everywhere in a upscale neighborhood. All the staff member were very friendly. Michael went out of his was to show us destinations that may be of interest and detailed information about the area and the hotel. We have a family reunion every year and we may just return for this event also. Our room was spotless and they upgraded us for 20 more dollars. Michael went out of his was to show us destinations that may be of interest and detailed information about the area and the hotel, al with a warm smile and great patience. There was a band playing in the lounge on friday and saturday nights. The band on Friday was excellent. The band on Saturday was extremely loud and just a poor performance. My only suggestion would be to offer the guests a discount or room service for the sunday breakfast.

Our room was exquisite. It had a large canopy bed, a lovely armoire with a TV and DVD player, a very comfortable couch, two swivel armchairs and lots of room to store our things. There were four large windows in the room, and a great view of the Sound.

The bathroom had a dressing area with plenty of room for two.
