Family vacation

Our overall experience was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, safe, and absolutely beautiful. My children, 7 and 9 years old, loved the pool. My husband loved the casino. I loved the spa and beach. The only drawback was that this hotel lacks a non-valet parking garage. We had to park across the street which was convenient, but it was an extra expense ($16 daily) which we had not anticipated.

As you pull up to the hotel, you are greeted by nice friendly young men to take your bags. The front desk was very friendly and our first impression of the hotel was so pleasing that we went for the "upgrade to the club level". We had access to a semi-private room where they offered you free continental breakfast in the morning and happy hour in the evening with appetizers and an open bar. We also enjoyed a wonderful room on the ground level that had patio doors that opened up to our own patio with lawn chairs, and direct access to the pool. The pool was wonderful, huge, with water fall and swim up bar. If it got too noisy from kids playing, you could just walk right out the gate to the best beach in San Juan, complete with beach chairs and a cabana boy to bring your drinks and food. They do have security at the hotel and it was nice. We did feel safer and they were pleasant and helpful. The restaurants were absolutely delicious. We tried both of them and were very pleased. The casino is not too big and it wasn't too busy. They bring you drinks and food when ever you want while you are gambling. It was very nice evening entertainment. We were within walking distance of a nice little grocery store, tshirt shop for gifts, and even a Subway Sandwich shop if you wanted. There was a surf lesson station set up only a half mi. from our beach. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We loved it and it was a wonderful experience. If any one thinks it is * to eat or drink here, you have'nt been to Vegas Lately.

Not impressed

Checking in to the hotel was very time consuming. Some of the check-in staff were nice, but others were not. It took an hour to get our luggage delivered to the room after we checked in. That was after we called twice. The food in the hotel was very expensive. We ate across the street. The drinks were also very expensive. The best part of the trip was the beautiful pool and the ocean. I would not stay at this hotel again because of how expensive the drinks and food were. Also, I was not overly impressed with the customer service. It was not consistent. I don't feel this hotel is a good family spot. Romantic getaway maybe, but not geared toward family.
