This hotel overlooks a canal in the Museum Quarter. The room was spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning, comfortable beds, etc. The quality of the bathroom accessories (soaps, shampoos) were a nice touch. We just stayed one night to get over jet lag, so this was perfect. Close to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, and a 10-15 minute walk to Vondelpark and the Leidesplein entertainment area. Also a 3 minute walk to the Heinekin Experience - though it doesn't reopen until Sept. '08. The breakfast buffet looked nice but was too expensive for us. The complimentary apples and sweet treats at the front desk were a nice touch, though.

"A little ways from central station/redlight district, but they are only a short train ride away. There is a train stop a block from the hotel. The hotel is in the nicest area of Amsterdam. Close to the VanGogh, Rembrandt, and Rijks Museums. The Leidseplein is a short walk which has a lot of hip clubs and bars. Very good "coffee" shops, and bars in the area too. Service at this hotel is very friendly, and the rooms are very clean with good showers. Ask for a room that faces the canal. Food is good but pricey. I highly recommend this place for the price and quality. "
