Warm and Friendly Hotel

We loved our three night stay at the Algonquin Hotel. Recently renovated, with so much warmth and character, it was so welcoming. Perfectly located in Midtown Manhattan, about one block from Times Square. Everything is within walking distance. The staff was superb! They were warm and friendly and always took the time to chat. They could not do enough for us. Matilda the cat was so sweet. That was a cute touch, since we have a cat of our own. Our room was cozy, as well. The bed and duvet was extremely comfortable. We slept like babies. They had a big screen TV on the wall in front of our bed. (My husband went to NYC kicking and screaming, but I knew the big screen TV would capture his heart. LOL! And it did!) The bathroom had a nice long ledge from the sink to the wall, so we could spread out our toiletries for easy access. I also loved the big walk-in closet. We both had a fabulous time, and agreed we would definately stay at the Algonquin again. Can't wait to return! Thank you for a great stay!

A surprisingly warm and fuzzy experience in the heart of Midtown. "Welcome cat" at the front desk is a nice touch. Room small but just renovated. Lobby old-fashioned Art Deco elegant. Staff charming (including the cat). Perfect midtown location.

The Algonquin is perfectly located. It is intimate, historic, and cozy. The rooms have recently been refurbished and have wonderful linens. I was extremely comfortable and enjoyed my stay greatly. I go to NYC frequently and have stayed at many hotels (Bryant Park, W, 70 Park, On the Ave, Morgans) and I will definitely go back to the Algonquin.
