Great hotel. Asked for free upgrade, and they gave me waterview! It was awesome. I didn't need to leave my room to see the fireworks on Canada Day. Plus it was right by maid of the mist and many very expensive restaraunts. Check out the view from the outside pool on floor 7. Fireplace in room but no fridge, go figure. Great view, next to boarder.

The hotel was in a beautiful location. It was next to shopping, restaurants, the Falls. I thought the carpet needed to be cleaned. It had quite a few spots on the carpet throughout. The staff was friendly. The restaurants are very expensive and charge more than what you would normally pay anywhere else. We had a great time and would love to go back.
Less than spectacular view of the air conditioning!

We just spent a weekend at Sheraton on the Falls in Ontario and were less than impressed. We were part of a large family group that rented at least 10 rooms. Our children and we had adjoining rooms, both looking directly at the hotel air conditioning units! We didn't pay for, nor were we expecting views of the falls, but the entire view (top to bottom, side to side of the window) of the one room was a Carrier air conditioning unit. In our children's room you could see a sliver town and blue sky at the far left of the window. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were not. The entire party of 22 people reserved tables (weeks in advance) at the Fallsview Rainbow Room for dinner one evening. The view was lovely, but the service was extremely slow and very inattentive - refills on drinks were almost non-existent, my husband never received his specially requested dessert (he has food allergies). The "surf & turf" consisted of a very small fillet and two pieces of shrimp! We've stayed at a few 4 and 5 star hotels and this does not even remotely qualify as one of them. I will say the location is excellent. The falls are a short walk away, and if you enjoy casinos and lots of tourist attractions they are all just around the corner. We didn't have time to try the waterpark, but theoutdoor pool deck boasts a terrific view of the falls.
First Trip to Niagara Falls - What we learned

My wife and I wanted to do a weekend getaway for our anniversary - we are SO happy we decided to stay on the Canadian side - I honestly don't understand why the "US or Canada" discsussion continues. We did stop by the US side when returning - (over the Rainbow bridge - to the observatory). Hard to see more than a glance of one fall - and the buildings are dumps. People call the CA side "cheesy" but I'll take that over "run down and broken" any day. I wish I could post a pic of the Hard Rock cafe on the US side - looks like they're leasing space from an old Greyhound bus station. If you have kids - no idea what you'd do with them.
Now to the hotel: We'd at first thought about a B&B (more romantic, etc) but chose the Sheraton on the Falls specifically because of its location and view - we had a "Superior" view room (you have the option) and it was wonderful - 'floor-to-ceiling' windows - opened at night and heard the roar of the falls all evening. The hotel was VERY clean. We don't have children, but if you do, you can walk to a huge waterpark from the hotel - no need to even go outside. We'd gotten a special which included $27 discount on breakfast and $50 towards dinner (in total, not for each) - which made the entire deal like a 2-for-1 on each meal.
If you're like I was a few days ago - wondering which posts had meaning, which were from people who just had chips on their shoulders - no chips here, just experience: We're grateful we made the choice we did.
Good Trip

The hotel was good, it was clean, staff was quite friendly. Restaurant was just ok nothing great. But we did find an amazing restaurant across the street called The Secret Garden. Food there was wonderful and the staff was very helpful and kind. Its family run which is nice to see in a town full of chain businesses. Hotel had a beautiful view of the falls, its amazing to wake up to such a thing in the morning! Parking is an issue there but I was given a tip to park at the casino and get a players advantage card its free. I would stay here again.
