Not Good at All

First -- compared to the dump next door, the Imperial was OK, I suppose.. Second -- the staff was fairly helpful and courteous -- no complaint about that. Even cleaned up a spilled beer can we told them about in the stairwell. Third -- now the negative. The smell. Not the room itself so much, but the halls and the area behind the lobby. Musty. Mildew. Not good. Next -- bug bites. 5 of them on my legs on Night One. In the morning, I saw and killed a red ant. A hole in the wall. Shampoo? A tiny little packet. Noisy from the room next door. Some noise heard from the street. Loud air conditioner (but it worked fine). Bad lighting. The tv remote worked quite poorly. The stairs were like the filthy painted cement stairways you'd find in covered parking lots. But inside. Guess you get what you pay for -- but at nearly $ for two nights once you add in tax and the parking surcharge ... silly us ... we expected more.

Thoroughly Pleased

I'm not sure what other travelers are referring to, but me and my husband's stay here was a very pleasant experience. The room was very clean and neat. I did not have a problem with my bed or with any leaking toilets. We had a nice view of Victoria Avenue and Centre Street with a distant view of the falls. I liked it so much that I decided to stay at this hotel again, this time with friends. The hotel is in a central location with many eateries and things to do on the strip. I recommend this hotel to singles, couples, families, and students.

Don't stay here. We were given a smoking room eventhough I asked for a non- I have asthma and I had my 2 month old with me. They told my husband that they did not have any other rooms available. After my 5 yr old found numerous bottles of prescription drugs in a drawer, I demanded a refund- miraculously a non-smoking room appeared. The rroms have peeling wallpaper, broken beds and TVs, running toilets. The pool and fitness center is a joke. I always write favorable reviews, but this place was the worst that I have EVER been to, go to any other hotel but this one; they are tons of others!

Mattress not secure on wooden bed frame

Convenient walk to Cliffton Hill and Niagara Falls area. Rooms are clean but bathroom can use some refurbishments. Acceptable service by hotel staff. However, there is one important thing that the hotel has to change. Their mattresses are unsecurely positioned on top of a wooden bed frame and moves out of the wooden support that can post a safety issue not only for kids by adults as well getting off the bed.
