When I was searching for somewhere to stay, I was horrified by all the reviews I read about different hotels. When I came across this hotel, it was no different. It had its share of good and bad reviews. The hotel is on the main highway right next door to a Toys R Us (weird), and a Lonestar, Arby's and Boston Market are the next 3 doors down, all within walking distance. There's also a mini mall across the highway (if you can figure out where the crosswalk is to cross it..) I guess the location is okay. The room and bathroom was clean, and had usual hotel amenities (iron/board, hair dryer, alarm clock, coffee maker, tv) plus a fridge and microwave. I didn't need to contact the front desk for anything, but they seemed nice enough when I checked in and out. The pool (outdoor) was clean, although it had a garden hose tied to the pole going down into the shallow end of the pool (again, weird). Overall, my stay was fine and I would definitely stay here again.

This motel is not the best nor the worst. All of the travel sites say that it was built in 1999, but it is at least ten years older than that. I was living in Norfolk when it was built and I would say the mid to late 80's. It has become run down over the years and very little money has been put in to the upkeep of the facility. However my room has always been adequate and you can't beat the location, near a major mall and the interstate with a great steak house across Military Highway.
I have never been disturbed by loud noise, fights or music as some have experienced. The staff is on the lower end of the scale and some seem to have no idea of how to do their jobs. On my last trip it took 45 minutes to check in, and I was the only one doing so; and it took 20 minutes to check out as the desk clerk was on the phone and he was not about to hang up before his conversation was over. Again, location and price only! If you want good service then go elsewhere.

I had a reservation here tonight, but when I got here the room made me feel dirty so I'm actually on my computer, sitting in my car at 3:30 in the morning trying to decide if its even worth finding a new place at this time of the morning. I think I'll just sleep in my car, this place is disgusting.
Not so good

This hotel has a contract with the govt. They don't care what the place looks like, they still get plenty of money. The housekeeping is bad, bathrooms not scrubed, floors dirty, who knows when they shampooed the carpets last. Call the front desk and hopefully they will answer.
Never stay here!!!

Are you ready? Put me in 5 different rooms. Had to ask for towels two times. Beds not changed. No complete toiltries in bathrooms. 1st morning at 7:30 am another customer came into our room with another key. Five minutes later the manager called us to ask who we were. Wanted to know if we were with the embassy. What? No morning newspaper or coffee. Restaurant not open. We travel ALL over the southeast United States and have never had such a horrible experience. Management, staff and housekeeping all need a serious training class. If you book this, GOOD LUCK!! You will need it.
