We stayed for 9 nights on the 12th floor looking the Forbidden City.
Services were excelent and quick
We ate at two of their restaurants, had drinks in the lobby bar and a couple of massages.
Almost everybody speaks english, if not they will find some one fast.
My wife was very happy and so was I.
Location is great.

This is a beautiful hotel, government-run and newly renovated. It's also very affordable, when you consider the exchange rate! Some rooms have views of the Forbidden City, and ours had a nice view of the Hutong (local alleyway residences) behind the hotel. Now that I know that a lot of the hutongs are being demolished to make way for new buildings for the olympics, it makes the view a bit more interesting. I don't know if those little houses are still there or not.
Strangly enough, with all of the money that went into the renovation to make it a five-star hotel, the bathrooms are like those in a bad roadside motel! ( pealing dirty paint, jiggling the handle of the toilet and all!) Also, FYI for those that are on the tall side, I'm 5'10" and had to kneel down to wash my hair, the shower head hit me at about shoulder height!
The hotel had three resturaunts: Diner/buffet, Chinese and Japanese. We ate at both the diner since it was quick, and the Chinese for a nice dinner. All were very good and the service was great! The staff was very friendly, and you can book tours right from the hotel. (We booked our Ming Tomb/Great Wall tour there)
Right on The Wangfujing, one of Beijing's major shopping districts, about two blocks from the shopping and about a half-hour walk to the Forbidden City, and 45 min to the Silk Market (great walk though!).
