Bang for the Buck

The hotel is conveniently located 2 blocks from Highway 101 and 2 blocks from a subway station. The staff was friendly and helpful, and answered any questions we had. The neighborhood is relatively safe, considering it is in Hollywood. It is about a mile from the action of the Walk of Fame and about 2 miles from Grauman's Chinese Theater. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the second time I've stayed here, and I have to say, both times I've been impressed by this place. I mean, it's not the Ritz, but for the price it's wonderful. The rooms were very clean and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is nice too...within walking distance of the walk of fame. I will definitely stay here everytime I go to Hollywood.

I stayed here with English relations. We had two rooms and loved the convenient location. The only thing I could find wrong with my room was the smoke alarm fell off the wall. We all agreed that we would gladly stay here again. The breakfast included many choices and we ate by the pool. This vintage hotel is really special and I encourage people to stay here if they don't want a cookie-cutter chain. Before long it will be impossible to find these original 50s type hotels.

This motel is an excellent example of the 1950's/1960's motor inn design. The fabulous retro neon sign is fully restored. The rooms are simple but a great value if you're on a budget. It's a block away from a Metro stop which makes travel easier if you don't want to bother with LA traffic.

2nd time not a charm

The first time I stayed at this location I had no trouble. Naturally I booked a room here for my second visit to Los Angeles. The rude person said we had no reservation and we were "lucky" because he found us one. I think he just didn't know what was going on, but none the less it was frustrating. Other than that it was alright. Clean room, nothing fancy, but everything you need. Good location and price.
