I saw the story on the news the night before but never though it would happen to me. This morning i found that this hotel is apart of the dirty hotel chain that we have seen most publicized lately. I awoke to make coffee in the room this morning only to find used dirty coffee mugs. the mug was turn upside down and placed on the same coaster asd the previous day. It had the ring from the coffee made the previous day. they do not replace or clean the mugs in the rooms. It makes me question their clenliness all together, we were suppose to have breakfast at the hotel that morning and i opted to go to a nearby restaurant. I would not eat anything from this hotel anymore. I went and purchased cleaning supplies to clean my room for my last night of stay an i am definately making sure we no longer stay there for future business travel. If your company has choices I would choose another place to stay.
Nice for a shorter stay

Family of four - parents, teen and young adult. Our room was spacious, handicap accessible. There were two queen beds and a fold out couch. The room was clean and comfortable, fluffy blankets and pillows. Parking is ample and free. Access to dining/entertainment area is wonderful, just a walk cross the street for a great outdoor mall experience, movie theatre, restaurants.... Though we had a little trouble with a missing sofabed mattress in the room, help was quick. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast...delicious made to order omelets plus the typical breakfast buffet fare. Hostess and kitchen staff in the breakfast room were warm, hospitable and very attentive. We often use Emeryville as a pit stop on a long drive from Southern to Northern Cal and have stayed at the Courtyard twice now for overnight stays when we're meeting a family member who flies into Oakland Airport. We would stay again, but not if it were an extended visit...if you're thinking about staying here to have access to SF, you can find something of comparable value in the City and closer to all the hot spots. This hotel is great for business travellers or short/quick stays.
