My friend and I stayed at PasaTiempo in the Santa Cruz Mountains (which has its own exit and entrance from Hwy 17). This is a beautiful spot nestled in the mountains with a garden setting suited for outdoor weddings. The room was spacious with a vaulted ceiling and shutters (instead of drapes). Our room faced the forest and not the parking lot. Coffee maker, fridge, king size bed. On the property you have a restaurant so should you decide to stay in, all needs are met. Santa Cruz was less than a mile straight down Hwy 17. The rate online was a mere $. A great deal for the coastal area but far enough away from the beachfront to be quiet and fragrant with forest trees and flowers.

This was a motel room with a great bed. The bathroom was small and needs an update. I had anticipated a more upscale room. The carpet was stained and the room felt old. The staff was friendly. The restaurant food and staff very good. The signage for northbound arrivals is difficult to see - we went right by and had a 30 minute search until we finally found it.

The front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a bit worn, but clean. If I knew then what I knew now, I'd ask for a room in the back, away from the highway noise, facing the golfcourse. We went to their restaurant for dinner and it was absolutelyfantastic.....great customer service and wonderful food. They pour a good martini also. NOTE: don't use mapquest to get directions to this place......we were lost for 1/2 hour because of their directions.....call the hotel for exact directions.
