My husband and I were going to a concert. We splurged a bit on this hotel instead of going to something ruddy like usual and it was very nice. I walked in wearing heavily chained pants and a bleached, old, tacky Slayer shirt and the staff still treated me like they would have if I had walked in wearing full Armani. A couple things that bugged me was that when I got to the room the batteries in the t.v. remote were dead, but I called and they were up in five minutes with fresh batteries. Also, you had to pay for parking, which wasn't something we were prepared for. Over all though, it was extremely nice and very worth the money.

Upon arrival we were booked in smoking room but we do not smoke. The room smelled like old stalled smoke. Ask to move rooms was able to accomadate the following day. Non smoking room seemed nicer! Of course fresh. View was specatular. Front desk employees were very nice and thoughtful! Especially Mattie!! Elevators broke had only one working for one day with 15 stories that was not cute. Pool is totally in doors no sunlight and water was cold. Jacuzzi was cold too. Found it cheaper to pay meters some days only $*/hr avail most of time. No meter charge on weekends!! Overall after moving to the nonsmoking room we were satisfied. Oops forgot did not like the mattress and hated pillows poly stuffing and clumpy. I would stay again just as for nonsmoking room and bring your own pillows. Great Location! Enjoy.
Great location, nice rooms, but...

My 6-year old son and I stayed one night there to do some bike-riding , canal boat ride & swim in the hotel pool (which was pretty nice). However, when we got there, the hotel elevator got stuck, freaking out my son. They got us out after about 10 minutes - we had to jump down a couple of feet onto the 3rd floor after someone opened up the doors manually from the outside. A manager gave us a free breakfast and upgraded our stay to a suite, which I thought was fair compensation for the incident. When I later asked the front desk about the elevators, they claimed that they do get stuck occasionally (??!!), but that it shouldn't have taken 10 minutes to get us out. The next morning when we were checking out, people were complaining that the parking gartage elevator had broken!
The employees were nice, not overtly rude at all, but slightly less "professional" than those of other comparably priced hotels.
Moral of the story - If you stay here, get a low floor and take the stairs.
Bad experience for myself and others

I stayed at this hotel because they offered a great discount price to the group with which I traveled. Unfortunately, myself and other members of the group had a terrible experience. My first night there, the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate at 4:30 a.m. That wasn't bad in and of itself. The bad part was that they didn't have anybody who knew how to properly reset it, and it went off again 5 more times in the course of 90 minutes. Also, the ground level exit doors in both emergency stairs would not open. We had to back-track to the third floor, and go down the hall to the other stairs to exit at the lobby level. If there had been an actual fire, this would have been catastrophic. In addition, upon arrival I found the carpet to be quite damp and obviously water damaged near the AC unit. It turned out a hose had become disconnected. I found broken glass on the bathroom floor - with my bare foot! And the fun doesn't stop there. We left a suitable tip for housekeeping each day. Sometimes the tip was taken, other days it was not, but we never had consistent restocking of the in-room coffee and cup supplies. Our group was also supposed to have fridges in our rooms, but most of us had to ask for them after our arrival. And the hot tub was never "hot", only warm.

It was a nice stay overall, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, and quiet. The only thing was the bathroom vent was crusted with dirt and dust causing the bathroom to take longer to ventilate. And it took a day and a half to pick up a tray when room service was ordered by my travel mate. We finally took the tray and left it in the hall for pick up! But other than those two things my stay was nice.
