we stayed here 15 yrs ago. It was fantastic then, and it still is, but the rooms need some help. the mold was a problem in the bathroom. The pool is sublime. Love the hammocks

The hotel charges parking fee of $15.00 a day. I didnt even have a car and they took the initiative and charged it to my card I had to tell them I didnt have a car parked there, therefore they took it off. so beware.

This hotel has the most beautiful view I have ever seen. The Hanalei Bay is magnificent.you must see it!!! The hotel will be renovated in 2007 starting around March or April I was told, and will last throughout the year. The hotel needs improvements in the room. The food is very expensive, even by the poolside. $21 for a sandwich and $3.50 for a coke + tax/tip. I would return but only for the scenic view . A relaxing atmosphere hotel.

so-so rooms

The location is great and the public areas look great. The rooms leave a lot to be desired for any price. We finally ended up in a suite with an ocean view. Many of the rooms we looked at had mold up near the air conditioning vents. They even had to replace our mattress - it had several plywood boards under it! We'll go back to this hotel but now we know what to expect. The staff were all very accomodating and even sympathized with us (discreetly though). They said Starwood just basically moved into the property and did no refurb/upgrade.

This hotel is a prime example of you get what you pay for. Yes, it's expensive, but the views, proximity to multiple beaches, the food, the service, the landscaping...totally awesome! We've been spoiled.
