VERY Convenient - Will Stay There Again

When on vacation, we don't spend a lot of time in the hotel...we go and see and do. However, we would in this hotel. (We DIDN'T...but, we WOULD!) It was VERY convenient to all that we did. It was within walking-distance to EVERYTHING. It was VERY comfortable. The staff was great! The "free" breakfast got our day started on the right track. Bottom-line: it was a very enjoyable stay...and a value. (Hotels in San Francisco are expensive...we wanted to save money, but, not stay at a dump...so, we were very pleasantly surprised that it was a really nice hotel at a good price!)

So disappointed

There is only parking at the Holiday Inn regular hotel, so when you stay at the Express, you have to park in the garage, go up the stairs or elevator (into the wrong hotel), and then walk a block to the other hotel. We paid $ for 6 days for parking, which seems excessive, especially since when we booked the trip in April the parking was $ dollars a day and then when we get there it is $ dollars a day. When we complained, they basically said, "Too bad, so sad." Our room was on the 4th floor (out of 5 floors) and was very noisy. The downside to staying at the wharf was that the street cleaners and trash collectors work during the night. Nothing says welcome like a big dumpster being emptied right outside your hotel at 2am. It is a good location to everything on the wharf. That is the upside.

Wonderful Stay!

We just spent 7 nights at this hotel, located near Fisherman's Wharf. Most attractions were within walking distance! Walgreen's was just a block away when we needed to get aloe for sun burn - talk about convenience! There was a short bus ride from the hotel to AT&T Park to attend a baseball game! The room (junior suite with two double beds) was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast offered was very good but the selections were limited - only cereal choices were fruit loops or raisin bran and the hot meal was cheese omelets and sausage patties for five of the seven days of our stay - scrambled eggs and bacon on the other two days. Also, the breakfast is available from 6:30 am until 10:30 am but it gets very crowded after 8:00 am. So either eat early or bring your food back to the room! Overall, we enjoyed a lovely vacation!

This is our second trip to the Holiday Inn Express and would stay again. Rate included a continental breakfast which also includes hot items (eggs, biscuits and gravy and either bacon or sausage). The location is 2 1/2 blocks from Embarcadero which is the central location for most activities and well within walking distance to other areas. The staff was always accomodating and friendly. Rooms are clean and modern. My only suggestion would be that they add at least 2 additional computers as the 2 already there were always taken.
