Manotel Jade
The Manotel Jade hotel is a moderately priced hotel by expensive Geneva standards. We had an enjoyable stay here for a week and found that it was a classy place at a pretty good value (again, taking into account how expensive Geneva is in general).
The hotel is in a nice location--relatively close to the train station, but not so close that you are in a seedy train station neighborhood. It's only a 10- to 15-minute walk from the station, or two tram stops and a very short walk. The Jade is on a relatively quiet side street, but there will still be plenty of street noise to wake you up if you have the windows open. The Jade is also relatively close to the lake and all the rest of downtown Geneva. It is a nice 20-minute walk back from the main downtown center, though you might want to use the buses/trams if you don't want so much of a walk.
The Jade has supposedly been decorated according to Feng Shui principles. It seems pretty sharp and attractive. Our room was very nice, not huge, but a good size and better than many other European hotel rooms. Everything was very neat and clean.
The staff were generally very helpful and nice and efficient. A breakfast is included in the price of the room. It's a self-service breakfast, but a very nice one, with various pastries, cold meats, cheese, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, fruit, juice, and an egg boiler. It made for a very pleasant start of the day.
The rooms had complimentary wireless Internet, also.
I'm giving it a "Highly Recommended" because it was quite nice, even though it is a little on the expensive side. But I'm sticking with the "Highly" because most places in Geneva were quite expensive.
