We have stayed here many times in last few years. Service is always good. Location can't be beat! Rooms are beginning to show wear, but always clean and nice bedding.
Quick trip to SF

Check in process okay. But took front desk several tries to make a door pass card that would open my room. Hotel evidences an elegant past, but is showing wear and age. Bed and linens first class. Amenities (shampoo, etc) very nice. Staff courteous at all hours of day - I came and went at late and early hours - hours outside the daytime staff.

Room was nice,great location.Ask for a room as high up as you can because of the noise. Parking was very expensive 100.00 for 2 nights. Upon check-in I told them I would pay cash for incidentals, they still charged my card and would not reverse charges. I would stay again and park in the garage down the street.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Linens on the bed were very nice, bed very comfortable. Would stay there again

The hotels location - one block from - Union Square, Powell Cable Car line and Bart Station are great. Unfortunately, it's just close enough to the Tenderloin district to attract many homeless and other undesireables who hassle the tourists. We were bombarded by beggars everytime we left the hotel. All-in-all though, we'd stay there again. Good value for the service.
