Great Hotel for the money

I stayed in this hotel for five nights with my sister when we visited San Diego last summer. It was in a really convenient location, right next to the interstate, which gave us easy access to everything. Also, it was clean and had free wireless internet, which was helpful since we needed to know how to get to places. And it had a refrigerator and microwave in our room, which meant we could stock up on food from the convenience store instead of wasting money. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We wasted a whole lot more money on a five star hotel (it had a discount due to construction) when we went to L.A., and both of us actually preferred this hotel, especially since the other one charged us for every little thing. If you want to spend all your money on the zoo, Sea World, etc. stay in this hotel. There is a convenience store just a couple buildings over (a good place to buy stamps; they had a machine) and also there is a little restaurant in the hotel that is not too expensive, kind of like a Denny's or something. We ate breakfast there and it was very good. Also there are fast food restaurants just a few exits away on the interstate, as well as a Target and a mall with a movie theater.

We stayed at the hotel from 6/23 to 6/25 and had a wonderful time. The location is great, The hotel staff was helpful and gave great directions. The rooms were clean and had a microwave, small frig, safe, iron , coffee maker, and hair dryer. I would recommend staying on the third floor (less noise). We ate breakfast at the Pam Pam cafe. The service and food was good. Prices for breakfast was affordable. They did have a shuttle service, but I was afraid to use it, because of a review I read about the shuttle service. The hotel does offer a AAA discount. I only paid * a night. Great price for the money.

Days Hotel Recommendation

The hotel room was clean and looked like it had been rececently updated. It had a (somewhat odd) mini-kitchen with an oven, sink, microwave, and mini fridge, which was a surprise and kind of a nice feature (although we didn't use it.) The pool area is really tropical and pretty...you forget that you're right by the highway! The employees weren't very friendly. There were no towels by the pool, even after calling to verify that there were towels. We had to go chase down some towels, then they didn't even give us enough for our whole group. For the San Diego area, I think this one was good value (we paid under $*, I think.)

Great place to stay

Great place ,exceptional clean and everything we could ask for in a room that cost more than twice the price of this one. Very courteous hotel personnel and close to most attractions make this a great place to stay. We normally stay in a couple of places in San Diego , but this time I went by the reviews due to amazing low rates at Days inn, which we never had stayed before. This hotel is winner and for the price you can stay twice as many days than you would in a more expensive hotel that has the same qualities. Thanks to all of you who write your reviews as they really make a difference in our planning and enjoyment of our vacations.

Poor Shuttle Service

The hotel for the most part was good. The pool area was nice our room was great. However I saw 2 websites that said that a Shuttle Service would be provided to MCRD and to local attractions. Well we booked with online travel website instead of SATO travel so we were not able to fit on any of there shuttles to the base. The last day of our stay I asked when the shuttle would be leaving TO the San Diego Zoo and was informed that it was at 4:30 pm. We then went to mission beach and had our cab drop us off at the zoo and figured we could just catch the shuttle home at 6 when the zoo closed. I called to verify what time the shuttle would be there to pick us up. The same gentleman I talked to said 4:30 was the last pick up to the hotel from the zoo. I asked him to call the cab company we had used the entire trip and he said he would. Long story short the cab never came and said the hotel never called them to come and pick us up, but it was too late because the cab company stopped running at 6. I was not pleased! The only other problem we had was the keys never worked in the pool door and we had to go get them reset 4 times one evening it was a little frustrating. So if you are going to watch your son graduate from the marine corp...find an actual hotel with actual shuttles.
