shoebox and no luxury

Absolutely terrible. I have stayed in W's in San Francisco and Dallas and they are wonderful and gorgeous. Not this one. Not only was it a shoebox, small room, but it was over used and worn. The furniture was scuffed, the AC didn't work and they had to change the unit at 9pm at night. They forgot a roll away until I requested it for the third time. It was such a small room, that it barely fit. We crawled over it out of our bed to get to the bathroom, which was also small. Our room on our cruise boat last summer was bigger than this room. Most W's are luxury feeling, not this. I have stayed in Holiday Inn's that are nicer than this. The bell staff was the only nice thing about this visit. He was terrific. Upon arrival in the nice lobby, lots of people were in the lobby/lounge area. After seeing how the small and boring the room was, I can see now why they hung out there.
Small on space but big on comfort.

We were shocked at first at how small our room was. Even the bathroom was tiny and the toilet was almost right up against the seat. After settling in we got used to our small space and everything was fine. The bed, pillows and linens were so nice; we are going to buy our own front the hotel store. We also got the shower head that was in our room. The bed was so comfortable that alone made the room worth it. Anyone who has had a bad bed knows the importance of a decent bed. We were not in our room much but when we were it was very comfortable.
The hotel was in a great location. We were not too far from great food and shopping on 5th ave. The subway is just a few blocks down and took us from one end of the island to the other.
"Cramped, try the W Court or Tuscany instead"

Small rooms could be forgiven, but not in the summertime. Air Conditioner in room just doesn't do the job in 90+ degree summer heat in NYC.
Great Spot - for NYC

The hotel is conveniently located (close to Rockefeller, 5th, etc) so that everything's in walking distance. Be warned that the rooms - even "superior" ones are very, very small. The food at the downstairs restaurant is very good, but a bit pricey, so be prepared for NY prices and sizes.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The room we stayed in was beautiful! The bed was excellent. I also thought the service was quite god.
