The Fairfield Pagosa appeared to be brand new at the time of our visit. We were lucky enough to have a two-bedroom, two-bath condo for the week we were there, and the warm, cozy accommodations made the trip much more enjoyable for the four of us.

The master bedroom had a huge bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub to ease sore muscles, and the living room area was spacious. The decent-sized kitchen was fully stocked with needed utensils and items and full-size appliances.

The front desk staff were helpful and courteous (thanks for the amazing hot, fresh cookies) and pointed us in the right direction for anything we needed.

If you have the option to stay at the Fairfield Pagosa, by all means do it and relax in comfort!

Best Things Nearby:
Wolf Creek Ski Resort and Durango Mountain Resort

Best Things About the Resort:
Nice condos with great access to skiing

Resort Experience:
For the past two years, we have stayed in the two-bedroom, two-bath, plus loft condos. They offer a full kitchen, two decks, and outstanding views of the nearby mountain ranges. This portion of Colorado gets the most snow of any place within the state, so it's an excellent place for winter ski getaways.

Resort Experience:
You have to experience it to believe it. To get a week away from the world, four times a year, is why I go. Disappear into the San Juans, away from the fast-paced life that exists the rest of the year, and find peace and restore your sanity. No matter what time of year, no matter what the weather, this is the place to be. If you want to do nothing, or if you are the type that has to be doing something every day, you will find just what you need at Fairfield Pagosa. The staff is courteous and helpful. The city is laid-back, peaceful, and charming. Ride a bike, a horse, or a snowmobile. Hunt, fish, ski, or snowboard. It is all here.

Resort Experience:
We arrived weary from travel. The check-in staff was most courteous and helpful, and we were assigned someone to help us at any time while we were there. The timeshare (in the Peregrine section) was clean, spacious and attractive, with all the amenities. The hot tub was wonderful. Everything about the unit and service was excellent, and I would highly recommend Fairfield Pagosa.

Also, anything we needed (groceries, bait, mail packages) was within 1 mile...VERY handy. The Sunday night Intro-to-Activities was helpful, and we actually won a free pass to the chuckwagon BBQ! The resort was a little short on free/inexpensive organized activities, but featured some out-of-the-ordinary great stuff. I would have enjoyed an outdoor pool, but we spent several afternoons fishing at the lakes (no pole rental) but complete with awesome scenery and weather. We made day trips to Durango, Chimney Rock, and Pagosa Springs. All in all, a great vacation if you wanted to keep busy...or just wanted to get away and relax!

We were surprised at the accomodations that we discovered at the Fairfield Pagosa. The one bedroom unit was very nice and fit our needs well. This area is on the west side of town. Nearby is a large supermarket and lots of restaurants. The thing that affected me most was the altitude however. When you read the warnings about "over 9000 feet" don't take it lightly. I found that I really needed an afternoon nap. If you drive a car up there, take a fishing pole and bicycles. The resort would be wise to rent these things on site, and maybe kayaks too.
