I was robbed!

Discourteous, inexperienced...at best, indifferent Staff. They claimed to have internet service in the room. I needed it to send an important file to work. Upon arrival they told me I did have wireless in my room. I'm pretty computer savy...no wireless signal. Then, I informed them of this and they said "oh yeah....no wireless on your side of the building...but we do have wired". Then they gave me a 12 inch ethernet cable!! I knew it wouldn't reach but they actually argued with me about it??!!?? Went back to the room., set my computer on the floor and plugged in......dead as a doornail. Went to tell them at the front desk. They could have cared less. TV did not work shower handle would not stay on (got a nice knot on my foot from it falling off during a shower). 2 of the 4 lamps in the room did not work the light in the bathroom made a very erie buzz/shorting sound like you here in a horror movie. the room was dark, dingy and in a bad state of repair the furniture was in horrible condition - like they got it at a bad garage sale Motel 6 is many cuts above this place thank god I did this trip solo and didn't have my significant other with me.... It was expensive to boot!!!! bar attached but no restaurant or even coffee available in the morning randomly spoke to other guests who were also dumbfounded by the poor quality/experience STAY CLEAR OF THIS TRAP

Yes the rooms are not as nice as the lobby, but I really appreciate staying in a place where the rooms are without carpet. The rooms also are without windows to the outdoors. These windows show you the hallway outside and are with blinds that cover most but not all of the full window 100% The majority of the staff are great. The coffee is horrible and breakfast (a danish or muffin) is for the early birds. The exposed brick wall and beams provide charm. If you want better coffee go nextdoor to Mother's which is the best breakfast spot NOLA

Its now an ideal place to stay for peace and quiet at night....thin walls, thin ceiling, and creaky floors...hear every sound/conversations from surrounding rooms. Watch out for fees not posted on webcite. Valet service good.

Run far, run fast!

This was the second worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The hardwood floors were dirty, bed was hard, pillows flimsy, bed skirt ripped, paper-thin walls, scantily furnished room (felt more like a prison cell) little water pressure from shower head, water was warm at best, black hair strands on towels in bathroom, overall experience just wasn't pleasant. I read a review and was a little nervous upon checking into my room, for the lobby was very deceiving. Once I opened the door to my room, my worst fears were confirmed. I couldn't wait until Sunday came so I could check out of this pit. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. PLEASE DON'T DO IT!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

We stayed at the Ambassador for a long weekend. Hoped that the charm factor of the old building, wood floors, etc would be great, and while the floors were beautiful old floors and there was exposed brick and wood beams in our room, the room wasn't very clean and the bathroom was gross: either the grout was naturally fuzzy black or there was a mold problem. No mold smell, but no "clean" smell either! Tiled sink area was falling apart and seemed both unsafe and dirty(mold and spots). Towels, linens, etc were clean, and changed daily. Comfortable bed w/2 pillows, made up without fitted sheets on the mattress so by morning things were tangled and twisted. The thing that I found very unsettling was the lack of curtains in the room. We had an inside room, yet there were 2 windows that looked into some sort of very dark closet, and both windows as well as the glass door that you use to enter from the hallway had flimsy white blinds. None of the blinds shut properly so we had creepy black spaces from the windows and tons of light pouring in all night through the blinds on the door. Just didn't feel private and, honestly, it was difficult to sleep with the level of light from the hall. We recommended that they consider curtains to make things more comfortable. Definitely would not stay here again unless curtains are added. Location is great: only a few minutes of walking will get you to the French district and to the riverwalk/casino. Great restaurants literally all around -- again, walk 3 minutes to Emeril's place, etc, 5 to the French district and you're golden. Not all bad... but the bad outweighed the good in our opinion.
