Beautiful Hotel, Great Location

While staying here my husband and I were in a pretty bad accident and totaled our car. We stayed for another 3 days after the accident. The staff was more than accomodating and made sure we were taken care of. They let us check out late since we had to wait for a ride home. The rooms are definately old school but I really enjoyed it. The location is great! It's a fairly easy walk to most everything in town (since we had no car we had to walk everywhere so we know first hand). I would definately recommend this hotel!

The most charming hotel I've ever stayed at. Ther service was impecable, its like staying in a museum rich with history. I would highly recomend this hotel for families, great location right across from the hot springs. Excelent Dinner menue, the front desk staff was very personable. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Terrible now, great for the 1800's

We stayed there with a baby, we let them know a baby was coming, we did not get a crib! There are no ammenitites, and there is only 1 elevator to the 400+ guest... Will never stay there again.

Good Historic Hotel

If you like staying in historic hotels you will like this. I try to stay in historic hotels at least once. I should have checkd but there was not blow dryer, iron, or coffe in the room. The Sunday breakfast was disappointing, expensive buffet but nothing cooked to order for $15 a person. They said they were short wait staff so I don't know what it would be usually. The front desk personnel was helpful if not friendly. Nice little coffe shop in the hotel. The grounds are pretty and a nice big porch. A little noisy due to the age of the building but great decor. It is close to things in town so you can walk which is nice. I'm glad we stayed there once but would try another historic hotel in town or a B & B.

Can someone give me some air???

Okay- Do NOT stay here in summer. there is no AC. I have stayed here before (2x's) and would stay again... but not in summer. On labor day weekend, the room was sooo over 80 degree's on the 3rd flloor. The hotel was nice enough to send up a box fan- which did nothing but blow the hot air around. I understand that this an historical hotel- but oh my gosh- over 80 degrees. With that, the rezy was for 2 nights. I called the hotel at midnight. on the first night, and said "I am outta here"...and went to the Best Western down the street. I am waiting to see how the travel agency bills me for this.
