Description: Le Meridien is a nearly brand new luxury hotel right on the Magnificent Mile. We booked our room on Hotwire for about $110. The regular room rates are about $200 per night. The rooms were beautiful, luxurious, and tastefully decorated, as were the bathrooms (the garden soaking tub--in all rooms--was especially nice). The decor is on the modern side, and the hotel has a hip look to it. All of the rooms have robes and a CD player.
The location is great, Le Meridien is actually connected to an upscale mall (The Shops at Northbridge, containing a Nordstrom''s), but it doesn''t have a mall feel. The hotel bar (Le Rendevous) and French restaurant (Cerise) looked a bit underused, they weren''t exactly city hot spots, but there are many restaurants and bars in walking distance.
We found the service to be very good, the staff were always helpful and friendly. They gave us an umbrella as we were heading out one day, unasked, because they had heard reports of rain. Ask for a room with a view so you''re not stuck staring at a brick wall, as some of our friends were.
