We stayed 5 nights Feb.5-10 at the Caribou Lodge in Banff. We have stayed there many times before and we keep going back! Great value for your money.Very pretty and nicely appointed lobby area.Rooms are just big enough for what you need with comfy beds and very clean. We love that you can open the windows for fresh air if you so deisire too.Toiletries are better than average there. The Keg is one of the best places in town to eat ,any meal in! We ate many of our meals there and always do. The huge indoor whirlpool is the very thing to make you relax after flying all day long to get there or a day on the slopes.
There is a great full service spa there if you want to use it.We spent all our time out hiking and walking the town. There are no down sides to this place. We have stayed at the very best and do not feel slighted here. In fact we get a sense of being "at home" and it is cozy and comfortable. You will not be sorry if you stay here. It is just the 2 of us and I do not know what accomadations they would have for a large family? If you need more info, call their number and the friendly people at the front desk with help you!
Banff Caribou Lodge
A first-rate hotel! The room was very comfortable, with iron/ironing board, coffee pot, fridge, cable/WiFi, and a hair dryer. The lobby and the building itself was breathtaking with the logs and decor, but the people made it the most wonderful lodging experience ever. They leave the most amazing toiletries and are at your door in a heartbeat if you need anything. We booked on Priceline for a fraction of the cost for our second honeymoon, and they gave us a balcony room overlooking Banff Avenue. Don't overlook the exercise room, with its steam room, sauna, and hot tubs, either. (The Keg is there too, but skip the breakfast--cold food and colder waiter. Go at supper and hope you get Janice.) The parking building looked like a skier's paradise, too--lockers and waxing room, etc.
