Resort Experience:
This is a gracious old building in the historic Gaslamp area. Rooms are very nicely presented, with everything you could want, but limited kitchen facilities. Complimentary breakfast every morning in the breakfast room on the top floor. We loved it!

Best Things About the Resort:
People that worked there were really nice.

Resort Experience:
Older building; smelled like a dentist's office when you stepped off of the elevator, but the rooms were clean and did not smell. Small jacuzzi, only four people at a time. Nice view from the roof. Street noise kept me up one night, I was on the seventh floor. Restaurant - Dakota's is nice, but expensive. The valet parking was very expensive. Overall, it is a great location and I had a good time.

Best Things Nearby:
Everything is nearby. Two blocks from Horton Square. Two blocks from trolley and transit store. There must be 50 restaurants within 2 blocks. A car is a waste of money.

Best Things About the Resort:
Great location for exploring the entire county. Free breakfast every day. Spacious units and great views.

Resort Experience:
Located in converted office building and the best aspects of the building were retained. The location could not be better. Horton Plaza, with a couple hundred stores, is two blocks away. I bought transit passes to get around and also went to Coronodo, Mexico and all around the county with that pass. If you want swimming pools and work-out facilities, this is not for you.

If you enjoy seeing a very interesting city, the location is great. It's about a $5 cab ride from the airport. The Gaslamp area is full of all kinds and prices of restaurants. The view from my unit was fantastic. If you like nightlife, there is plenty within a block or two. How about a movie? There are two theatres within a couple of blocks. Want to see the famous zoo, a ball game, or Sea World? Just go to the transit store two blocks away and buy a pass ($12 for 3 days of unlimited rides) and check out how to get there. A car is a hindrance as parking is scarce and expensive.

Best Things About the Resort:
Convieniently located near many wonderful restaurants and shopping.

Resort Experience:
It's a historic hotel, so the only cooking facilites are the microwave. The unit was small, but adequate for four adults using the sofa-sleeper. The rooftop breakfast was a nice perk. Because of the location in the heart of the Gaslamp district, street noise is very obvious -- bring along a small radio or white noise machine if you think it might help you sleep.

Best Things Nearby:
The restaurants and shopping were the best!!! There was a great open air mall about a block from the resort. It had every type of store, from specialty to designer. The prices were average and the service was outstanding. The restaurants in the area were also great. There were at least 10-20 restaurants within walking distance. We found a Finnish restaurant and bar that was amazing! The food was reasonable and the atmosphere was great! We spent a lot of time just enjoying the nearby stuff to do!

Best Things About the Resort:
The staff at the resort were awesome!!! They helped us decide where to go and what to see and do. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. The resort is very unique. It is an urban resort that is very old. The ambience was very pleasurable. Relaxing yet fun and romantic. The walls and floors were marble, and the units were very nice. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the units.

Resort Experience:
The resort is like stepping back in time! It is soooo elegant and clean. The staff is what you would expect from a hotel 50 years ago. They honestly catered to their guests. It is hard to find service like that anymore!!! It is what I would characterize as classy, sophisticated, and fun!!!
