Great location but......

I was in the city for eye operation and needed to be in the room afterward and the TV did not work. We reported it 4 times and finally at 10:30 p.m. the night before we checked out, someone came because the bartender from the restaurant who we complained to, took care of it. Didn't help my eye situation though. Quiet room, small bedroom and bathroom but you come to expect that in NYC. I found the price through Travelocity was good. The restaurant and waiters were great there and highly recommend Benjamin Steak House. I saw potential in the place to do well because of the great location but they need to work on their staff before calling a" luxe " hotel as they do. I would not stay again. There are too many to choose from.

I would highly recommend staying at "the Dylan" hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff couldn't be more friendly. The location is great especially if you don't mind walking.

This hotel fell very far short of my expectations as a smart New York boutique hotel. The room was disappointingly scruffy in decor and for $* for 4 nights I expected a something better than this.

Not so Luxurious

They book it as a luxury hotel, but, though nice, it was really very ordinary. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff was nice and helpful. The rooms were tiny as were the bathrooms. Only a shower, no tub. The sink didn't have a counter. Closet only big enough for a couple of days' worth of clothes. Curtains wouldn't close; staff had to use staples to keep them closed.

Showing wear and tear

Tiny, dark room, but adequate for a business stay. Staff was competent, but stand off-ish. The original 'chic' decor seems shabby now. Could use a face lift, or better maintenance. Housekeeping could have done a better job vacuuming the carpet. Room service "forgot" my breakfast one morning, but finally delivered it an hour late at no charge. The small bathroom needs more counter, and a more hooks for towels/robe. The hotel is surprisingly quiet for the location, and convenient for getting around. My needs were met, but I didn't leave anxious to return.
